Title: Mountain tops
Post by: AGM65 on December 23, 2007, 01:33:43 PM
I think it would be nice to have the mountain peaks over 5K marked in some way. Yes, someone will mention the clutter factor. But it would be nice to know just how tall is that mountain that I may have to clear. Especially in a buff, then you may be able to plan your climb out around that BIG hill.

Look in the upper right hand corner of the map- on some maps, there's a scale which will tell you the rough altitude of an area by its shading.

Same with me, I just do it to assist people.

AGM65, you could actually be the person to make this happen! There's a major need for people who can make the clipboard maps "more" topographical. You could be another one of the few who are making some of those incredible maps which depict the altitude of the terrain.

Head on over to the Terrain Editor (http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=61) forum if you're interested. Just ask them how to get started and you can be on your way to helping the community.

Thanks, I'll check out the terrain site sometime when I can pry my son off the comp for a day. Also for the shading tip. :aok
