Ladies and Gents....
I've been playing Aces High for approx 15mths now.
I enjoy the game very much !
I must admit that I play this game mainly for FIGHTERS and scraps ...
Sometimes I will jump in vehicles and the CV to assist teamates...
Don't really care about the captures and scores and who's wining the war !
After playing in each arenas for a while, the MIDWAR is my favorite one.
For me, the scraps are often FAIR. I like the 1 vs 1 or the 3 vs 2 etc...
I like the plane choices in the MID war years...
For the first several months I was loyal to the BISHOP cntry. I also belonged to a reputable squadron.
After a while, there was no air cons to fight. The action was taken place between the two other countries... I was getting bored driving GV's ! LOL
Well I took the decision to quit my squad and become a free pilot for a while.
That is when I started to float from one country to the other !
That is when the game started being more interesting !
I met my enemy pilots and had good constructive conversations with them.
My fighter skills have improved very much !
I respect anyone being loyal to his country:aok
Lately I have been getting some flak from frustrated players.
Sorry guys ! I will keep changing country as I see fit !
There are two things I check when I log to play ACES HIGH.
1) Roster - To check team balance
2) Map - Looking for air cons
3) Squad - Belong to a squad. Will play with them...
To those of you that get upset towards me, too bad guys, its my decision !
If you come across me and wish to engage in any conversation, you are welcome.
On many occasions, I have spent hours teaching and passing along my fighting tips and skills to other squadron pilots. (Hired Guns / Steel Rivets / S.O.A.R.S and many other pilots fighting in MID WAR)
I will be loyal to any teams ! That means I will not and never did change sides to take advantage or give any info to anyone to gain advantage.
I will not comment against any countries regarding the ongoing gossips.
Some players/squads and countries have their own styles of playing this simulator game:aok
Anyway...
Nothing personal to anyone I have come across and shot down when minutes earlier they observed my game ID on the roster and being on the same team.
I play this game to fly the SPIT9 and looking for a fair good hard long lasting scrap:D
Tried the late wars and its not for me. Being jumped/bounced by 4 when saddling up on the enemy plane is not what I'm looking for !
Getting a kill credit when we are 4 vs 1 is not what I enjoy !
I enjoy the MID WAR and that is where you will cross me...
Keep your eyes peeled for that high spit !
SALUTE !

Changing teams is a very good idea. It is fun to fly with different people and it is fun to fight the enemy rather than your team to compete for kills. As an added benefit, you do a small part to keep things interesting. If we all flew for one country, wouldn't be much fun at all. The only people who would care enough to make something out of changing teams are those who take this game way to seriously to begin with...so, switch away and continue to have fun.
-
Flown with you a few times in the MW OPP7755(and against you too) From one '9 driver to another:aok Well done sir,I look foward to more
-
Salute BKWOLF !
My best advice to anyone who wishes to become better at whatever part of the game they like best is : Join the player that gives you a hard time and learn from him !
I was shot down by MACE-ROLEX-BIPOLAR-SLAPSHOT-AKAK-SIMARIL-RODENT57-NB- BIGPLAY-VONHOLTZ and many more...
I have come across these guys and had good learning conversations with them. I flew with them while recording their fights...
Today I'm a fair pilot and give good scraps to anyone who challenges me(I think !)
Until we meet again my friend !
SALUTE
Phil / OPP7755

Good for you Phil:aok I fly with my squaddies if they are on at the same time, otherwise I generally fly for the side with lower numbers - whoever that is at the time. If my squaddies come on during that time, I'll switch arena's until my hour is finished, then go fly with them after that.
Only been here a short while, thoroughly enjoying it (even the ho's, rams (thats normally me tho lol..) and meeting a truckload of new people).
I'm gradually improving, even if my stats dont reflect that bit lol.....it now takes people up to 30 seconds to shoot me down rather than 5:D
Its about having fun, and its working for me.......
all of ya (even you lot who shoot me down regularly.....I'll get payback, oh yes, bwahahahaha *cough, cough*....ha ha ha ha ha

Lots of fellas and squads seem to regularly switch countries.
Muppets and AK's are the first to come to mind. I'm sure there are others.
-
I'm mainly a Rook, and there are a bunch of fun guys that fly Rook. However, if there's no real fights going on (and just the normal runners and rammers) then I'll switch over to the Knights. The Knights are always fun to fly with too.
Haven't really flown bish at all. I may only have 3 minutes of flight time with them since I began playing AH2.
-
dont worry about what othes say. what are they going to do jump thru the internet and kick your arse i think not. have fun with the game its your 15 bucks:aok
-
Switch, it's no big deal. Hec, that's why they put in ENY to encourage side swapping. Enjoy yourself, and ignor the wennies, :D
-
Another who has seen the light. I just wish you weren't the minority Phil.
-
:noid Can anyone guess what I'm look at? Ah, never mind...:)
I usually stay in the same country I happen to log into. I figure in the next day or so my squadies would catch up to me.
Lil did I know they run the other way! :furious

i dont thinks its a case that people jump countries but i think people assume they have done so to get easy kills. IE they seen a noe mission and they jump countries to intercept them.
personaly i take my hate of to the people who do jump countries to even the sides out (it improves game play) but i hate the ones that do it for the easy kills.
-
I mostly fly Rooks but I switch sides from time to time if there aren't any good fights or if the ENY is crazy. Switching sides to spy is pretty lame though.

Switching sides tells a lot about a players real world character: There is none. No moral fibre, no loyalty. Weak quitters. This is the stuff real world traitors are made of. Stick with your country in good or bad times! Be PROUD of your COUNTRY!
Some "people" claim to have friends on the other sides. WTF? There are no friends behind that border, ONLY ENEMIES!!!!
And don't use that lame excuse "It's only a game"
HTC should disable switching.

Why does it always take soooooo loooong to get through a thread that Hondo has posted in ???? :D
As to the topic, its a game, it suppose to be fun !!!! Go for it !!!
-
Well done!! ....keep having fun!

I fly almost two years with the BISHOPS. I never changed into rooks or knits, and i don’t think i ever will, as long as I play this game. That’s my point of view.
-
Good to see I'm not alone. I started switching sides regularly a couple months ago.
Not only did I get fed up with some outrageous eny restrictions, I suddenly realized it might make play a little better if the teams were evened out- not that me switching to the team with lowest numbers is going to help when the numbers are 35, 20, 17.
The only downside I've found is the lack of camraderie you feel in having YOUR team.
Other than that, I've found the teams seem to be pretty similar. Each team has the friendly guys you like to be around and some that you never really deal with at all. Each team will seem totally disorganized at times and other times seeming like they're a real juggernaut.
One thing that cracks me up is hearing players complain that the particular team we're on is screwed up and can't do anything right...blah, blah, blah. I've found each country can look bad or good depending on who's playing and the particular dynamics of the game at that time. I try and make a point to tell them that I've found all teams pretty much the same as far as organization and players go.
When I first started switching, I ended up going a little overboard by switching to the lowest numbered country even if there was only a one player spread: 8,9,9. I finally got to thinking that was a bit ridiculous and now stay with the team I'm with when I log in unless there's a wider spread in numbers. Just how wide the spread need be depends on my mood at the time.
Again, there's something to be said for camraderie, and loyalty to a team, but I think Lusche's going a bit far, assuming he's serious.
-
My squad flies Knight only. No ENY to High ENY.
Oink

For the first couple of months, I was sticking to one country.
With time I really saw why I was playing the game for . FIGHTERS ! I like to fly and scrap with the enemy. With respect to other game positions, I don't have any interest.
Having a career that involves shift rotations(night shifts), I end up being "off" during daily hours(E/T) where the game is at its minimum in players...
Several times, loging into the game and there's nobody flying :(
Should I get into a tank and go ? Not interested ! Maybe capture a base ? Maybe I'll do it to assist a teamate but not really interested ....
So I started to switch sides to be able to scrap with whoever is flying.
Nothing personal ! Just wanta scrap ;)
Am I to wait for the rush hours for more players to have a chance at what I like best in the game ?:rofl
Sorry guys, I'm switching and will keep on switching !
I don't see myself as a quitter, I do have good friends on each teams and have exchange many good things...
These players who got to know me are very aware of my opinion and are not offended when we confront....
As for the purpose of switching sides for the advantage, that I'm strongly against ! Some players have tried getting info out of me when I swtiched and they got a negative answer;)
Switching sides has nothing to do with my character. I have respect for the BISH-NIGHTS-ROOKS....
M'not a quitter and I stick with the boys when the tough gets goin';)
And YES ITS ONLY A GAME LUSCHE !!:lol
Switching sides and getting shot down by you Lusche made me a better player today for you to enjoy the game better when we meet again !
I respect your opinion on the matter but refuse to believe to be that player you decribed me to be :rofl :p ;) :D
Salute

Sounds like SOMEBODY takes this game tooooo seriously. *wink*
p.s. you kinda sounded like that guy from mail-call. that great little show about the marine introducing the world to military equipment. The only think missing was 'maggot!' :)

:)
Switch at the start of every month. We rotate sides on a month to month to do afew things.
Getting to know the other members of AH adds to the game play IMO. Working with some of the stronger players in the game just adds to our game play and helps build lasting relationships. With the number of haters in the game, switching sides sometimes helps to get to know the group you bang on.
I've never been a big, great job in killing me type of guy as most times the is an over used make me feel good comment but having time to wing with other groups when we rotate offers the chance to talk and build on that ideal without putting on the mask of yeah look at me I posted a .
I'd do what makes you have a good time, even if it pisses people off :) But it takes a long time to lose a bad label at times in AH. I don't care about the haters and it sounds like you don't either :)
Enjoy the game.

I´m rook, because finnish squads fly rooks. I´m loyal to my coyntrymen and if they wanted to switch side (i think they won,t), i would do that also but i´m happy this way; Rook in good or bad times.
-
I've been Bish for around 5 years and really don't see any reason to change.
Though I really don't mind if others to jump to other sides (except for lame bellybutton spys) it helps get that ENY up on Nits and Rooks so I get to fly my KI-61 and fight people in something other than the training wheel planes.. So jump my fellow Bish, fill the Nit and Rook ranks to overflow and let ENY #'s swell!!!! ENY IS GOOD!!!! :t
I really would fly midwar much more because the plane set is much better there but I really like flying in an arena with as many people as possible in it.. Ahh the good old days of 1 main.....

Pull up a lawn chair. I'll pop some popcorn.

OPP...
For me, I stay in one country in the larger arenas. In the smaller ones, 1 or 2 people moving can help balance the odds. One of the things I do try to do is avoid fighting the country I left...for a little bit.
-
I fly in a country Hub is not in.
-
I started as a bishop and stayed there.
Its not that i dont like the other countries, I have made good friends who are from the different countries. Especially when i met people who played h2h and also played on the main arenas like me.
Lusche does have a point though you can fight harder if you are loyal to one country but still i dont see why not switch to different countries.
:noid Unless your spying:noid
Remember its just a game not part of life...

I fly for the lowest bidder :D

The only country I will not fly is Rooks. Unless you share my view that I, having repeatedly witnessed Rooks sell otherwise perfectly reasonable people the idée fixe that its blessing is the equivalent of a papal imprimatur, claim that I have every right to refer to them as temperamental egotists, there's no need for you to hear me further. Rooks are like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz. Pull back the curtain of egoism and you'll see a brain-damaged exhibitionists hiding behind it, furiously pulling the levers of resistentialism in an obscene attempt to generate alienation and withdrawal. That sort of discovery should make any sane person realize that it's irrelevant that my allegations are 100% true. Those who fly Rooks distrust my information and arguments and will forever maintain their current opinions. Rooks thinks that they can walk on water. However, there is considerable evidence to show that they are serious about wanting to feed us a diet of porking, base grabbing, furball killing, and all other manner of trials and tribulations.
What I find frightening is that some veterans actually believe Rooks line that a richly evocative description of a problem automatically implies the correct solution to that problem. In this case, "veteran" refers to a stratum of the residual intelligentsia surviving the recession of its demotic base, not to those seekers of truth who understand that there is a proper place in life for hatred. Hatred of that which is wrong is a powerful and valuable tool. But when Rooks pervert hatred in order to create division in the name of elitism, it becomes clear that its "I'm right and you're wrong" attitude is myopic because it leaves no room for compromise.
What is often overlooked, however, is that the Rooks sincerely believe that they are beyond reproach then they must be smoking something illegal. I am annoyed by the unsavory and sometimes horny manifestations of rebelliousness against an inherited civilization of which Rooks pilots do not have the slightest understanding. In view of that, it is not surprising that Rooks pilots have been staggering around like punch-drunk fighters hit too many times -- stunned, confused, betrayed, and trying desperately to rationalize Rooks judgmental traducements. It is definitely not a pretty sight. It seems to me that, as others have stated long before me, "The Rooks behavior is beneath contempt." What this underlines, I think, is that Rooks is like a giant octopus sprawling its slimy length over air battles, sea, and land. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of self-created screen. Rooks seize in their long and powerful tentacles sportmanship, our fighters, our strat, our ability to takeoff, our sense of honor, and every idea created for the public protection. In closing, although this reply has been lengthy there are still a large number of comments about Rooks that I have had to leave aside. I didn't even begin to mention, for instance, that I don't care to share the same planet as the Rooks. Anyway, the important point is that Rooks's codices are just an outcropping of its hatred of other countries.
BTW back in 2 days.

The 80th goes to the low number team. Best way to get fights.

I just wished I had the kind of free time it took bushi to write that all out...
Unless squadmates are already on and can't switch, I almost always switch to the side with the lowest numbers.
