Poor Paris Hilton. Her Billionaire Grandfather, Barron Hilton, has now decided to leave 97% of his vast $2.3 Billion dollar fortune to charities, instead of his family.
There are reports circulating that Paris's Grandfather is extremely embarrassed by the wild behavior of his granddaughter. He even believes that she has seriously tarnished the family's name.
So to make up for all of that, all of this huge fortune will now go into a trust to support charities helping to alleviate the suffering of needy people for many years to come. He is hoping that this legacy of compassion and generosity will outlive that of his granddaughter. Although, really, I do not know what Paris Hilton stands for. Do you know?
Anyway, tell me: Do you feel sorry for poor Paris? This decision has probably cost her a couple hundred million of dollars.
Here is the news story:

I bet her 15 year old brother, that has never done a single thing to get in the media, is pissed.

You think?
Aren't charity donations tax deductible? I say a good lump of that cash is coming back to them anyways.
-
TMZ is reporting that the "charitable grandfather" actually ilked out several millions of funds his father had willed to charities.
Looks like guilt might be a small part of his decision to donate the funds, again, to charity.

3% of 2.3B is not too bad....would keep me happy for entire life.

awwwww poor Paris.
~$34 million.
Damn, she's going to have to make some cuts.
How on earth is she going to survive the first six months?
-
THat'sa nothing new they said that a few years back. The guy was already planning to donate most of his money to charities. I'm pretty sure Paris likely won't need it, she's good for a few million a year on her own.

Tax deductions are for the living. If you are leaving your fortune to a charity you are NOT taking a tax deduction as you are no longer there to file the tax forms. Once the fortune is left to relatives THEY can donate some of it as a tax deductions as they are still alive.

Hey, she has two new movies already in the can that will be coming out shortly in 2008, where she has leading roles. Don't you think that she has a chance at being a real legitimate movie star??
The Hottie and the Nottie will come out soon ( Paris plays the Hottie ), and that will be followed by Repo! The Genetic Opera! It is unclear if she will be playing some kind of genetic mutation in this movie.
Really, is there anyone else quite like Paris???

Uh, that's $69 million, not $34 million. Barron has 8 children, one is Rick (Paris' father) who is already worth about $300 million. Paris reportedly "earned" (I use the term loosely) $6.5 million last year from whatever it is she does, so I don't think she'll be filling in an application to work at Walmart anytime soon.
