I was on late last night and received first class treatment from "A8Nisky".
I was headed home with 5 kills no ammo broken gear missing an aileron and a flap and a PW, I asked for mercy on the grounds of Honor and he obliged. I was able to land my kills. That was a 1st Class move. I've been informed that their squad motto is: Teamwork, Honor and Respect. He exemplified it.
Happy New Year!!

From my experiences with them I can say that the A8s are good blokes.
It's nice to get this sort of thing.
I had the same thing with Gianlupo a while ago.... I didn't even ask for mercy (I happened to be nursing a wingless 190A home). He saw my plight, called out on 200 that he'd leave me be and I was able to RTB safely.
-
A big
to the Aces and Eights - especially a8balls who left the arena last night before I got a chance to return the .
It was very enjoyable flying against you guys.
-
Thats refreshing to hear about.
-
Maybe he was out of ammo too...just saying :D
-
He had just upped, loaded for bear.
-
Nothing but respect for the Aces & Eights!
Happy New Year, Gentlemen!:aok

Well last night was fun between the bishes and the A8. I was uping out of a base, and was looking for GV's. Out of no were came 4 or 5 110's heading for the town. they destroy most of the town before I even approch them. later they up osti's and M3's at the spawn point. I was in an A8 myself and had 6 kills before I ran out and rtb. before I went I saluted them for thier persitancy on tring to captur that base.
Again a big ! to all of those A8's that tried to take the base.:aok
-
A8's are a Great bunch, alway nice having them as a wingman.
-
aces and eights?!?!?
damn I thought they all had A8 in front of their names because they were 190a8 dweebs.
-
your lucky it wasn't me, I would have gunned your brains out pure and simple.
I am a purist in all that is war. In human war you either KILL your enemy or he KILLs you. All that honor stuff is so sissified, go play checkers.

What war would that be? :)
Last I checked I was playing a game. No one is really dying so the war of attrition doesn't really work.
If a guy is all shot up, missing part of a wing, or dead stick there's no real glory or ability needed to finish him off. Since it's a game, might as well leave him the challenge of trying to get it home or get it down.

A8's are a good bunch.
Don't tell them I said that. :noid

2 things...
1. Well said Guppy. Some people tend to forget it's only a game.
2. A big fat to the boys with Aces & Eights. I've had nothing but great times flying against them since they formed up. I got into a great fight with 8Balls awhile back and we have been friendly ever since.
-
WOW Blue! Says a lot about the level of honor and respect you hold within yourself taking the time to post a thread like this.
This month Nisky was trying to keep his K/D ratio low and he's definitely a credit to the squad along with so many others we have with the same mindset.
He's not only a good pilot but a funny guy as well and were proud to have him even if he can't handle his hot peppers

Great post Guppy! :aok And there were numerous times in real war where an injured enemy was not shot down.
to Nisky and the A8's for honor & class. I've battled them many times and they're a class bunch!

This town isnt big enough for two blues...

A BIG Salute to all of you.
You are all great to fly against and with.
We (the A8's) have so many times seen other squads bashing people and squads alike on 200. We take pride in the fact we are respectful enough not to do the same. You wont find all of us as chivalrous as A8Nisky for letting a kill walk away, but, most of us do and appreciate it when it happens for us as much as ya'll do I'm sure. ;)
Though this is a game and its played by people of all races, ages, skill levels and basic moral veiws, the object is to have fun. Its hard to have fun when people act like arrogant fools towards one another. Thats why Honor and Respect has been so crucial to our squads survivability. Many people and squads in the game have hated and disrespected us from the begining, now it seems most of them now either like us or still hate us, but, hate us with respect. Either way, we are still here.
Again, thank you all for the kind words. Its nice to hear positive recognition every now and then.
SALUTE to you all.
A8Chewie
By the way Fester... we very rarely fly A8's, lol :lol :aok

A couple of months back I was fighting it out with a bish I am friends with. We go at it for a bit until we are both missing parts and whatnot and my friend is now bingo ammo. So we pull along side each other to take some pics right on the deck over the ocean. As we are busy chatting and taking pics, I get bounced by an unseen bish and go down in flames. It was pretty damn funny.
My point is that after playing this for awhile, you will find there are many people who are friends with and have respect for the nme. We enjoy duking it out, shooting each other down, and occasionally letting a guy fly home. As with any thing in life, you have some who are too full of themselves and have an inflated sense of self-importance and they can wear on you and make the game less enjoyable. Pay those folks no mind and make friends with the others. You won't be disappointed.
-
Pretty simple really. Treat other people how you would like to be treated in the same situation. One of the best sticks in the game told me that my first month here. Glad to hear of one of the A8's doing so.

Very cool thread we all have here.
The Aces & 8's are very fun to fight. Other players seem to enjoy their presence as well by the talk I hear on country channel whenever the A8's are trying to capture an airfield of ours.
A8's.
Nice job Nisky.
-
Nice one!
What at first hooked me up for the flight sims, was in fact the old European Air War played in the MSN Lobby. Instead of the usual Counter strike attitude one sadly experience in the Aces High sometimes, I was intrigued by the general grown up behavior that reflected in to the fights as well. You knew when you had won and there was no glory in making an additional point by wasting your ammo to the still flying wreckage.
Of course AH is so different in nature and the circles much larger that one can not expect to have similar behavior here - maps are not won by avoiding vulching etc. But then again those small gestures are surprisingly refreshing to experience sometimes.
Keep it going! :)

Ahhh, to each his own. If you log onto this game and present yourself as a target to me I am going to do my best to kill you, and I expect the same in return. Thats why I play the game. Busted wing? Engine blown out....too bad. Try to survive. Ive landed many a busted wings and dead sticked into many base fights, lots of times I make it, lots of times I dont. I love that challenge.
Since it's a game, might as well leave him the challenge of trying to get it home or get it down.
====
Getting past the aggressor and landing kills IS part of the challenge. Not this BS fly by, dipping the wings with a french salute. Screw that. If I cut people slack so they could go land their busted ride then I am not playing the game the way I think it should be played.
To each his own.

Yeager....Just wanted to give a Salute to someone I thought deserved it , not open a topic of argument :)

I get your point. Heres mine: If you didn't want this thread open to comments perhaps a private message would have been better?
Also, I'm not seeing an argument here, just a small free form discussion on a sub topic inspired by your original thread.

If someone who is helpless says "dont taze me bro!" on 200 As long as he has no buddys around I am going to put single MG rounds into him until I get bored, he crashes,he runs to ack like a little girl,or something more interesting grabs my attention.

well if you look at it Yeager both of your post are off topic and really should have not been posted.
this thread was orginally supposed to be a Salute to the Aces&8's

Blue, Don't worry about this guy. If you notice most of his posts on the forum are this way.

Interestingly enough I ran into Aces & 8s other day trying to take a field, invited me to their vox and flew with em, real nice chaps was an honor to fly with them, very few squads are open like that, only other squad to do that was arch angels when I first came rook, olds and Diesel were kind to let me fly with em for few days.
To kind of people like this, its a game after all I'd buy all countries a beer.

And back to topic A8s! I remember a great running fight Kermit, a few others, and myself had with your squad a month or two ago.

Thanks for all the salutes guys, we just try to have fun doing what we do. everyone is welcome to come fly with us. Hope all are having a great New Years. See ya in the Virtual Blue. A8beau

lol, I don't think blue is worried about me and can cover himself just fine, which he did before your pampering mother skills rolled into this thread.....

Most of my experience with them is that they are an aggressive gaming squad that kills everything they can get their guns, bombs and roks on.

just in case you are confused, Im not yeager in game.

Just out of curiosity, but why not? (let people know what your game ID is, I mean).
Not that I care either way - I just can't think of any reason why a player wouldn't want people to be able to associate who they are in game with who they are on the BBS, so was wondering if you would enlighten me.

Based on his posts, I wouldn't want to be known either

A8s are among the best squads in the game... Worthy opponants one and all! I'd like to fly with them (instead of getting killed BY them) some time, but I just can't bring myself to switch to the rooks. If you guys EVER get tired of flying Rook, The Bishops would welcome you with open arms, just ask the AAs!

Like we say in spanish "mas maricon, imposible".
After reading your insightful posts, most of which are the chest thumping, war-monging type, you then run away and hide in the corner of internet anonymity. Speaks volumes about you.
Back to the only topic of this forum, to the A8s. I too have had the pleasure to fly against them and its always a lot of fun.

You SEEM to be a rational human most of the time... but (the dreaded but monkey) what does killing a hoplessly crippled opponant do besides waste ammo and pad YOUR SCORE with an easy kill?!?! If you really are playing for "fun", what joy do you get downing a guy that is fleeing in an "unfightable" aircraft? Your argument leaves one with the impression that you care the most about scores and the least about a good fight.

Have you ever come close to downing a skilled and worthy opponent but he bested you in the fight?
So you decide to ride the wreckage down to a lower altitude before bailing out and the guy who removed your wing comes back to you and guns your twirling wreckage into an explosion and kills your virtual pilot?
Have you ever experienced that? The feeling you get when that happens?
PS Glad to see you have decided to join the thread emu :)

I always enjoy flying with the A8's, be it one or most of the squad. All the guys are fun to be around & make the game enjoyable. I'll usually try to tag along because I know they'll back me up if I get in trouble & I'll do my best to back them up, even if I die in the process to try to repay the debt.
