Not to me. Looks like there's a highly faded star in the middle of that roundel. Looks post-war to me.

What's the country that has the red star in the middle like that? Croatia? Czech republic? Something balkan-ish.

Yes forgot to mention, served in Yugoslavia and was downed between 1990. and 1995.

Well if it's a single-engine prop plane in 1995 it's obviously going to be some kind of trainer.

Looks like a T-6 or SNJ.  Two seater with 2 bladed prop.

This angle looks close.

According to Wikipedia the Yugoslavs did operate T6s

Go watch "Kelly's Heros"   Pretty sure they stood in for American planes during the filming in Yugoslavia of that movie.

Those folks have a thing about putting beat up planes on cement blocks? ;)  Must be a rough neighborhood :D
