Anyone hearing any new news about the incident that happened @ the SF Zoo on xmas? Have the two survivors decided to cooperate with the police yet? I haven't heard anything?
-
I've not heard any breaking developments, but you can keep checking our local news channel's site: KRON 4 (http://www.kron.com/)
The zoo issued a statement saying the tiger was provoked, the lawyer for the survivors says they didn't.

no, they aren't cooperating since it's looking more like a case of taunting the tiger before the attack.
police reports have indicated finding a tree branch, pine cones and some rocks that might have been used to throw at the tiger. The tree branch, pine cones and rocks that were found in the tiger enclosure came from another part of the zoo and could not have found their way "naturally" to the enclosure. Zoo keepers that were in the enclosure prior to the attack claim that they did not see any of the reported objects when they were in the enclosure. this has led the assumption by the SFPD that those objects were "introduced" into the enclosure after the zoo keepers had left and prior to the attack although at this time they are not saying for certain that these objects were used to taunt the tiger but so far circumstantial evidence is looking that way.
This is in edition to the sneaker foot print found on the enclosure wall and the almost empty bottle of vodka found in one of the teenager's car that was parked at the zoo.
I wonder if the dead kid can qualify for the Darwin Awards?

I thought that was the #1 requirement for Darwin Award winners

I think he qualifies

So how are the Darwin Awards actually determined?
Nominees significantly improve the gene pool by eliminating themselves from the human race in an obviously stupid way. They are self-selected examples of the dangers inherent in a lack of common sense, and all human races, cultures, and socioeconomic groups are eligible to compete. Actual winners must meet the following criteria:
Reproduction
Out of the gene pool: dead or sterile.
Excellence
Astounding misapplication of judgment.
Self-Selection
Cause one's own demise.
Maturity
Capable of sound judgment.
Veracity
The event must be true.

Wow, he pretty much qualifies on all points. They should give him at the very least the Runner's Up Darwin Award if he doesn't outright win it. Have to be pretty stupid to qualify as the only tiger attack fatality in the United States for 2007.

A shame they killed the Tiger that they taunted. The Tiger did it's best to clean the pool of these morons. It got one of them at least.

This is just an example of how antisocials in society are expanding and ruining things for regular folks.

News just said the 2 that survived had slingshots on their person.

Police today flatly denied a report that the three victims of the Christmas Day tiger mauling at the San Francisco Zoo were carrying slingshots on the day of the attack, which claimed the life of a 17-year-old zoo visitor.
The denial follows a report that appeared in the New York Post and cited an unnamed police source who made the slingshot claim about Carlos Sousa Jr. and brothers Paul and Kulbir Dhaliwal. Sousa was killed in the attack.

Im scared for my when my generation takes over this country. hopefully I'll be happily retired from the military by then living on some desolate island. I can see it now, the president will send U.S. forces into Asia armed with pinecones to piss tigers off.
