Title: Iowa.
Post by: Stang on January 03, 2008, 02:05:04 PM
Well, this is it.

Will the crazies on both sides win out?  Will there be a shocking result?  Should make for a very interesting night.

It's cold as a chick that leaves ya with blue balls outside, so I'm probably gonna stay in and follow it.

I'll be here with ya!  I've been on pins and needles for a couple days now, can't wait to see some real numbers, as opposed to disputable poll results...

Who's Paul gonna endorse once he's dropped out of the race?

I don't think that'll happen, but if it did he'd endorse the Libertarian.  He's already stated that he'd have trouble endorsing any of his GOP competitors, there ain't a true small gov't/low taxes conservative in the bunch.

I'd love to see Ron Paul threaten to split the republican vote by running on the Libertarian Ticket if he's not given the nomination.

I'd love to see him get the nomination.  He could actually pull off beating Hillobama that way.  On a third party ticket that's trickier.  I'd vote for him, but the whole "wasted vote" mentality would be tough to surmount, as would the roadblocks third-party candidates have to deal with.  Remember when Nader and Buchanan were excluded from the debates in 2000?  And when the police prevented Nader from even entering the debates using a ticket a student had given him.  The deck's stacked.  Winning the nomination's much better...  :)

I don't think he's running this time around.  Not that I'd vote for him if he was, and Ron Paul sure as heck would never endorse him.  They're as close to political opposites as I can imagine any two politicians could be.

I'm watching the GOP caucus on CSPAN2...  Interesting, a supporter of each candidate was asked to come up and give a little statement about why they support their candidate.  Paul was flat out skipped.  They asked if Duncan Hunter would like to come up, noone was brave enough.  But Paul was skipped.  This stinks....

Looks like Paul's gonna bring in around 10%.  Decent, but not great.  Not bad for Iowa, actually.  I'm more concerned about the fact that around 230k showed up for the Dem caucus, while only 120k showed for the GOP's...

As for Ron Paul, on to NH!!!
