Title: Music To Fly To.
Post by: Kazaa on January 03, 2008, 04:34:53 PM
So what do you gents listen to while flying ? maybe you can drop a few links.

Bruv119 got me hooked on a really good British band called Arctic Monkeys. (linked are a few of their videos), dance seems to get me really amped for some reason.

I bet you look good on the dance floor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XTULcETGqk)

When The Sun Goes Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2W_hEdt1Xes)

You can do anything with the right music! :D

I listen to Nightwish, Elvenking, Rhapsody of Fire, Dark Moor, Dragonforce, and Kamelot. Amazingly, not one of them is an American band! I mainly have Nightwish play though since they are #1 in my book.

yup...they have some really funny songs to listen to while you're flying.  Try "I'm a Pilot", "Going in for Guns" and "I Wish I Had a Gun Like the A-10"

"2's Blind" always cracks me up though...

'then we turned into the sun....
like he does every fluff'n time..
sonof a B****, two's blind."

WHY is he so damned hard to see...
It must be his flying,
cuz it damn sure isn't me."

Next to Queen, a few Beatles songs and a bit of random rap (good stuff like The Roots), there's always room for Iron Maiden.

Or you can go ahead and be nerdy.. grab a few songs that match your plane. 'Spitfire' - Prodigy ... self-explanatory
'Highway to the Danger Zone' - Kenny Loggins for those USN a/c
'First Strike' from the 'Pearl Harbor' movie soundtrack for Japanese a/c.

:D Oh I wish I had a gun just like the A-10
I'd be happy as a baby in a playpen
I'd mow 'em down like a weedeater
With that 30 millimeter
I wish I had a gun just like the A-10:aok

I was flying out at Nellis doing dark grey WIC support
I was out there by my lonesome 'cause my buddy was a mort
When I saw that big fat ****** in a turn off to my right
He was either lost or he was looking for a fight
So I put him in my HUD and I almost flipped the switch
But then I thought, how could I miss? 'Cause that's a huge ***ch
And only a big ***** would use his two fox one's
It's time to get medieval
I'm going in for guns

I don't listen to music when I'm logged on. I usually have to have the extra ears to see if my kids are awake & sneaking out of bed. ;) I try not to play until after they've gone to sleep

It changes alot for me, but lately when I am listening to music and flying it has been the "Siren Song of the Counter Culture" by Rise Against. Especially the "Life less frightening" and "Give it all" tracks.

I used to put tunes on, but I found it distracting, now since I have a good headset combined with the Altec Lansing bass box and speakers  I just fly to the sound of cannon shells hitting my tailfeathers :rofl

Thanks!  I just re-found my fIREHOSE collection in the attic while packing away all the Christmas decoration crap, and am enjoying it IMMENSELY.  Ragin', Full On has got to be one of the best albums EVER, IMO.

without a doubt..."brave captain" was the greatest song I ever heard...those guys rocked. They used to play in Sactown all the time and I never missed those shows.

Long dead composers mostly (Vivaldi, Handel, and Strauss) and when feeling tired some upbeat 40s music instrumentals (ie Glenn Miller of Andrew Sisters tunes).

I've found long ago that popular music with lyrics are distracting.
