According to the press, something is going on in court today. Kevin Federline and his attorneys asked to consult with the family court today on an emergency basis. Although Brittany's attorneys have asked the court to release them from representing her, they still showed up today, as the court has not yet decided what to do about their request to be taken off her child custody case, leaving her with no lawyer to represent her.
Britany currently has only limited, supervised visitation rights with her two sons. All custody rights temporarily belong to K Fed. K Fed may be asking the court to take away even her limited contacts with the kids, after she refused to return them to him last night after a visitation. Apparently, Britany now wants her kids.
Britany is currently locked up and in restraints in a hospital on a 72 hour psychiatric hold after last night's incident. Police that arrived on the scene last night said that she was definitely under the influence of something, perhaps even illegal drugs.
What would you do if you were the family court judge handling this case? Would you give Britany some more chances at rehab? How many chances should she get to get clean?
At what point, if ever, should the court consider terminating her parental rights?
What are the odds, you think, that Britany may end up like Anna Nicole??
Does Britany Spears prove that money cannot buy happiness???
SIG 220
P.S. -- In an unrelated development today, Britany's mother and her publisher have called off their plans to publish her new book about parenting her celebrity children, since both are now train wrecks.
-
I am not a judge and I have no children. Therefore I shall refrain from judging someone, especially one concerning parental rights.
-
If she isnt physically or mentally capable of raising kids, she loses them.

This was proven way before Britany was even born.

It's not our job to judge others. I'll never understand what possesses some to attempt this.
What did Anna Nicole do to you? Did her dying piss you off? I watched a co-worker slam her when she died, he changed his tune. He realized, she left a kid behind.

I did not slam Anna Nicole in my post. I only speculated that Britany might end up like her.
But tell me, do you think that by doing drugs and killing herself that she was being a good mother to her daughter?? Just how is she providing for her child's needs now?
My point here is about justice in this case. What should be done, to ensure the most just result? How many breaks should Britany be given? Unlimited?
If behavior is irrelevant, then are you are saying that there is no such thing as morality?

"Celebrities" bleed like I do. I cannot slam Britney, it isn't my business to support "gossip".
That chav K-Fed is NO MORE "fitting" as a parent than she is.

Hear Hear.
IMO it's a case of he said she said with those two. They are as bad as each other.
The only thing I can say is from what I've seen Brittany's relationship with Kevin probably caused many of the problems she has now. If it wasn't for her we'd all be saying Kevin who?

Ah, but could you get away with doing everything that they get away with? O.J. comes to mind, although I think that there is now a decent chance that the state of Nevada may be able to nail him for his latest antics.
Latest report now coming in tonight is the Britney is mentally ill, and was diagnosed as suffering from BiPolar disorder a long time ago. How they have managed to keep this all such a secret for so long is truely amazing. But it would explain a lot, if true, including why she is now under a psychiatric hold.
And if indeed true, that then changes everything, and makes Britney blameless. Mentally ill people are not morally or legally responsible for their actions, and should never be punished for them.
This will be bad news for the Tabloid industry, though. Many will consider hounding a mentally ill person to be in rather poor taste.

If Britney dies, I'll finally admit that I'm the father.

I'd hit it.

No conflict in those two statements whatsoever.
Bottom line: Britney has been taking ALL of the heat for this, while her "equally inept ex-husband" has been given a "get out of jail free" card. I'm judging anyone by saying it, merely pointing out the hypocrisy.
K Fed is JUST as much to blame, as Britney.

Jeebus.
AHBBS becomes the National Enquirer.

No kidding Priuses and celeb gossip all in one day. The masculinity of this BBS dedicated to cartoon airplanes is all but gone.

Britany? All that's happening in the world and locally who gives a flying *****.

Heat for what, exactly? Not showing up for court hearings? Shrugging off responsibilities? I'm not defending the guy, but how is he responsible for her actions?

You're missing my point Donzo.
Again: K Fed is just as much to blame for their two KIDS, as she is. His "image" sure as hell isn't any brighter than hers. But the media continues to skirt him, and rake Britney over the coals.
I've never stated that "he" is responsible for her".

Got enough to worry about raising my own. Could care less what others do, and if they spent their effort raising theirs many things would be better :)

Oh pardon me, apparently I've stumbled across a knitting site populated by women.

You ain't kiddin'.

all that work, all that money, all that fame.......those two young kids, and she is literally flushing her soul down the drain. Someone, family, friends...somebody had better get in there and give that poor kid some real heart to heart love. She is one hurting unit.
-
They are doing the right thing by removing her children from her.
On another note, media is ****ed up, and people are ****ed up, if i was one of the ambulance ppl that was there when that paparazzi took those shots of her, i would have busted his ****ing head wide open.
Sick world.
-
Yikes, it pains me to do this. I...unnngk....agree with Thrawn
:p
I'll say this much about Ms Spears...after seeing the video clips of all the photographers that stalk her non-stop, day after day, I can understand her loosing her cool. If she gets ticked off at them constantly hounding her and snaps at them, she's portrayed as a monster. She's in a no win situation.
As far as her parenting skills....who knows what the real story is? She has been numb, skipping depositions and court dates....and you know the press loves to see a person self destruct.
And that's just what we're seeing here.
Once she's done, the cameras will move on to Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson....yada yada....pick your faltering celeb of the day.

Maybe not a bad idea. We would not have to take part in any future form of comeback and the news would be full of other "celebrity" nonsense.
The pop princess will prolly find jesus soon and after a few rounds on Oprah and whatnot we will get another album and the teens will go bananas followed by more scandal. This will go on until she is 50 and die of some overdose or eating disorder. If all combacks fail i would not be suprised if a sextape suddenly finds its way to the web and a new and more fitting career is born.
:)
-
She still has one more card to play in the "crazy celeb playbook".
"Leaked sex tape."

Well, it will not happen to Michael Jackson, as he has been hiding overseas since getting out of his last child abuse case in 2005. I doubt he will ever set foot again in the USA, or any other country where there are paparazzi.
He lived in Muslim Bahrain for awhile, but he has been in Ireland now since 2006. He has been busy re-recording the Thriller Album for "a new generation", as he describes it. It will be called Thriller 25, and is due out next month.
Besides new versions of all the original Thriller hits, the album will also have some brand new songs. He has been recording it in a plush studio that was built inside a remote Irish castle. Apparently it was the most remote and isolated state of the art studio that he could locate.
He also no longer talks to the press, as he feels they are out to get him.
On the other hand, Pamela Anderson has just filed for divorce from her latest husband, so she is now single and legible for dating again. So she could be in the news again soon, especially if she gets linked romantically to either Obama or Huckabee.
The current Presidential race really needs a sex scandal to spice things up a bit.

First of all, around these parts “Brittany” is a fictitious wounded deer that got a bunch of PETA-Tards questioning what constitutes bestiality and how best to nurse a sick animal back to health in a carpeted garage…
As far as Brittany Spears goes, you do realize that she is just another reality show, right? Spears, Paris Hilton and the like are folks who the media has targeted simply to drum up business for themselves. They sell this junk to the public because people are willing to buy it. Personally, I find it disturbing that some jerk paparazzi photographer can snap a picture of one of them and sell it for more than I earn in a year, all because the public is gullible enough to eat it up. I find it disturbing that Vietnam war era Pulitzer-Prize winning photographer, Nick Ut, has gone from capturing pictures like this:
to chasing after Paris Hilton, because that’s where the money is, or that’s how low we, he and/or the media has sunk.

[pre-teen girl] OMG OMG OMG OMG! Like, ummm, yeah! [/pre-teen girl]

Poor Britknee. Launch as a fireball and re-enter as a fireball.

While it's easy to sit back and judge Britany, I wonder how many of us would have been screwed up if we had grown up as she did, then was exposed to constant media attention. Imagine not being able to ever go out in public without twenty photographers swarming around you. Ever freaking moment outside of your home invaded by cameras, photographers hindering your every step. Not something I envy.
That on top of not having anything close to a normal childhood, or chance to find your way or develop any concept of normal life. Everyone wanting something from you, being told where to go and what to do. If someone experienced all that and came out normal, it would be a miracle.
But, that being said, she is out of control, probably with mental issues that need years of therapy, and is not capable of taking care of children safely and properly. She should not have custody, and supervised visit sadly are all she should be allowed after she cleans up and gets help.
