Post by: angelsandair on January 05, 2008, 12:15:42 PM
i was watching the military channel and found out that they made like 24 different spit mks, the last 1 that served during the war was the spit mk 21, so y does the spitties only stop at the 16? there is almost 10 more that could be used

For the same reason we don't have 14 versions of P47's or 12 versions of P38's.

What are you going to shoot down with the un-armed PR Spit Xs, XIs and XIXs?

Not all Mks were produced.

There are probally too many versions of some of the represented aircraft as it is. Drop a spit, Bf109, FW,P38,P47 ect. and give us a new aircraft.

"Following the end of the war, access to the German-built Junkers engines became an issue, and CASA found an alternative with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 500. In 1953, 173 Merlin engines were ordered. The newly Merlin-powered bombers and reconnaissance bombers became the 2.111B and 2.111D, respectively; some were re-engined, while others were built new."

The 2.111 "Pedro" outperform the original Heinkels (1350HP-->1600HP).
