So long since I made a terrain I have forgotten the basics (I think). Anyway starting from scratch when I got to "make map" ahedit crashes as above.

You might get a good response from Skuzzy regarding this issue. The best way to get his attention is to Email him. It takes him a while to get to this forum (Usually).

Could be Vista related.  It could be a lot of things.

If it was a new terrain, did you already start the terrain using "New" from the "File" menu?

What was in the terrain?

What video card does your computer have?

Thanks  I think I am just beginning to realise how much stuff I forgot over the years.
