Hello all.
I am going to the UK next Friday. Business and pleasure, so I seek yer advise.
Will be in London a couple of nights, my whole stay will be 4 nights. On Monday I have a business appointment in Wolverhampton, so I am thinking about staying somewhere near for a night or two.
Any recommendations?
And, anyone up for a meet-up in London on Friday/Saturday night?

Thank you!
We will be using public transport mostly (never picked up how to drive on the wrong side of the road, LOL), so we are thereby somewhat limited.
In London, we'll either be aiming at the center (i.e. close to Oxford street) or at some fast connection, i.e. King's Cross or such.
So, anyone ready for a meet-up - warm pints of bitter?

Sadly, I live up North and only come to London when I want to a break from being in England. Otherwise I'd gladly buy you a pint.
Enjoy your trip - London has some great sights - check out the British Museum and the First Emperor exhibition. It has actual terracotta army pieces in there. Not to mention lots of Egyptian and Greek sculptures and archaeology that we nicked. :)

Wolverhampton is just outside Birmingham, so you may be better getting a hotel room in the larger city.

While in London, I'd recommend that you visit the Imperial War Museum and RAF museum, if you can.
Imperial War Museum (http://www.iwm.org.uk/)
Royal Air Force Museum London (http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/index.cfm)
It seems that the RAF museum is closed between the 7th and 11th of this month.

Been on most of them (IWM, Hendon, British museum, as well as HMS Belfast, and up to Duxford like 3 times ;))
Anyway, a friend will be with me and he wants to see some, and I don't grow tired of them anyway....
Was wondering if there is anything navy-related to have a look at?
And then I haven't booked a B&B/Hotel yet. Will do today or tomorrow.
Might be St.Giles, - sort of a nice location, but the prices force me to look at B&B as well.

National Maritime Museum, Greenwich

The Royal Naval Museum is in Portsmouth, that's about 2 hours from London by train.

TY.
A friend of mine was recently in Portsmouth, - he sais it's a day or two if you want to really enjoy it.
Anyway, are you in London on that weekend? If you are, let me know if you want to meet-up!
And TY again. Greenwich, that would be fun, haven't been there yet.

Damn, I'm working.....otherwise I'd love to meet up......oddly enough, I live in Portsmouth
Will post if I can get out of the overtime....
Whatever you do, have fun!!
