Rather than the gamey GV supply system currently in use, how about having armoured recovery vehicles which can be player spawned?
Maybe there could be a system where the player has to drive up to the damaged vehicle in order to repair/rearm it, and remain in contact for 10 seconds or so?
Something like the M32 would be cool...

Also, rather than the GV field supplies, how about dropping engineers similar to dropping troops, which will then fix the base?
