Do you need to have a HD tv to play games and use em as media centers?

Im gonna get one of them mainly for use in the cabin, and we only have a regular 28" 4:3 tv there. We try not to watch tv when we are up there but sometimes its full of kids that gets bored when they cant ski or snowboard. Id like to get some games for it and fill it with some music and hook it up to the stereo and tv. If i have to get a hd or widescreen tv to use it i wont bother tho.

No sir. Atleast not for the xbox. Xbox360 sure looks nice with one. But still works fine.

I think the tv up there only has regular scart. Not sure if its RGB or whatever. Would that matter?

The PS3 has just about every sort of video/audio output there is. I bought one several days ago. With the recent commitment to Blu-Ray by Warner looks like Blu-Ray was the right choice.

Thx, ive seen that you can hook them both up with alot of different types of connections, but if the menus and games will look wierd and unreadable on an old school low res 4:3 tv set then they will be pretty useless for my needs.

Blu ray is far from the choice at the moment.....
The cost to manufacture blu ray is high... all new equipment... while to make HD-DVDs some simple retooling of a current DVD manufacturing facility is required.

There is no difference in the quality of the picture between the two.

From what I've read there are now 5 major movie makers commited to Blu-Ray and only 2 for HD-DVD. I think many are anxious to get a single format and the snowball may be rolling.

hey boys... i dont give a crap about blue ray vs hd dvd :D

im gonna use it to play music from and the occational game for the kids who cant stay still for a second unless they have something to do ;)

I've seen both an xbox360 and a ps3 connected to a standard res projector, both looked fine.

i have a ps2 and when i would select sommething colors like red ans black would seem to streatch(don't know if i spelled that right)
