Title: Stick scaling
Post by: Baumer on January 09, 2008, 10:44:41 PM
I wish we could save stick scaling settings for each aircraft model. It would be nice if they were auto selected when you go to takeoff.

Even 3 or 4 presets would be a huge help.

So you could have one stick setup for Turn & Burn, another for fast planes like P51/109, and a different setup again for bombers, etc.

Good idea baumer and one thats been wished for time and time again.

Ultimately, you only need to scale to get fine-tuning and/or to remove a dead spot or reduce nose-bounce.

Ultimately, the scaling of the stick will not help you fly a plane differently. I have no problems at all switching from a spitfire to a p51 to a fw190 to a ki84 to a 109.

Princess and the pea. You really won't notice much difference.

Well Krusty I understand your point but, if you take a spit at 200mph level and move the stick to generate a 4g climb then take a P-47 and do the same. The stick deflection is very different. I understand this is due to the aircraft model in the game but, if you were actually flying a P-47 in real life it would take a greater deflection than what I get in the game. I know the P-47 will not turn like a spit but, for a given G loading it would be nice if I could change the scaling to get a more consistent stick deflection. In the comparison I was talking about, The spit (Seafire) is about 75% deflection whereas the P-47 (P-47N) was 25% deflection. I know as I get more experience I'll get better at it but, It makes transitioning from one plane to the next more difficult than it needs to be.

Just my noob two cents :D

Sorry I meant to say 300mph not 200mph in the comparison.
