Title: New Oklahoma Immigration Law at work
Post by: REP0MAN on January 10, 2008, 03:35:29 PM
So, as some of you know, I am transfering to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work in the Cox system there. Today, I had to sign a job offer for my position and salary. There was a line in the letter that caught my eye....

"Please be prepared to comply with Federal regulations issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) by presenting documents to verify your legal employment status within three days of your first day of employment."

INteresting. I've never seen a stipulation like this before. Glad to see some companies are taking the law seriously.

I never saw it on a contract, but have had to produce such documents to get my check After I had been hired as far back as  20 years ago.

I've seen it on many contracts, but I've never had to produce any evidence.

But then again, it may be racial profiling.  I'm a tall Aryan boy.
