I was reading this on GWB's recent trip to Isreal, In this news link:

And it got me to thinking. How would you go about it, sometime around D-day+60?If you were told yes, what aircraft would you use? Where would you launch/ingress from? How would you egress? What ord? What fuel loadout?

I would use three 3-ship formations of LANCs coming in at 500 feets lobbing hunerds and hunerds of bombas at them track a lackas!

Let's keep flagellating ourselves for every what-if and shoulda-done in a global war that could have really messed the world up if the allies hadn't won it. Truly some people are never satisfied.

I agree with Halo on this.
It's history folks, remember it but look forward to the future.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, lets not forget that had the rails been destroyed the Nazis may have just simply shot any Jews they caught, immediately solving the transportation problem and ultimately reducing the survivor count once the camps were liberated.
Harsh I know but like I said, it's history. Now all we can do is either frustrate ourselves with futile re-evaluation or we can learn from the experience and move on.

I would say that there are other things to be concerned about in the ME rather than something that did or did not happen over 6 decades ago.

Yad Vashem's chairman, Avner Shalev, quoted Bush as saying the U.S. should have "bombed it." Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Bush referred to the train tracks leading to Auschwitz, not the camp itself, where between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people were killed by Nazi Germany.
Sure Condi, if you say so :)

I'd get jiggy with it then dance the night away with Condi.
