Title: An old bug has come back....
Post by: Bosco123 on January 12, 2008, 10:44:35 AM
Me and strafing were winged up in a 190A-8. we had our kills and we went off to land. He was running out of fuel and deadsticked on the runway, he bellied in. I put my wheels down and I went to go and stop next to him, when all of a sudden, he exploded. I have a video of this happening where he didn't get to land his kills.

The dreaded 190 bug...

Never belly land the 190s!
They blow up after 5 seconds.

this is with alot of planes. if you belly land you are on an uneven part of the plane and you will bounce from time to time.

You may bounce but I've never gotten killed in any plane, belly landed other than the 190s.

easier than it seems but if you were making a movie and someone else wanted to get close like I did, then that is a problem.

I just always figured that there was fuel leaking and had been sparked by the scraping across the ground, or some sort of other trauma that caused the pilot to die after a certain period of time.  I've had it happen in many planes, Lancasters, Ponys, Spits, etc.
