Title: Aces High crashes
Post by: Marshal on January 15, 2008, 01:07:29 PM
The game crashes every time I try to take up lancasters. This is the only bird that seems to do it. Everything else in the game works perfect. Not sure what the problem is, it just started yesterday. Anyone have any ideas?

Custom sounds?

If not that, remove the 'cache' folder in the game installation directory.

Are you running the high resolution texture package?  Try changing the "Maximum Texture Size" in the game's "Video Settings" to 512.

Thanks Skuzzy. I did have custom sounds and deleted them. The problem was still their. I then did a total reinstall of the game and now everything is working correctly. Thanks again.

I have a problem with a BSOD sometimes when I shut off the engine in a GV.  I know it's a sound driver issue (The drivers aren't right for my USB headphones).

I fixed this problem on my old computer.. the drivers the website supplies are for their second generation headphones.. you have to find the old drivers for the first generation which isn't easy to find on their website.

I have the correct drivers, but I think when I unplug and replug them it reverts back to the wrong drivers.

I'm sure cleaning off all remnants of the drivers and then reinstalling will fix the issue, but I've been too lazy to mess with it.

Also have a similar issue with my X52.  I had them plugged into a USB port in the front of my computer, but then I got a powered hub and now use them in that.  When I plug it in, my MFD display doesn't light up (it uses generic windows drivers) and to get it to work i have to reinstall the drivers and all is good, but if I unplug/replug them in, it diverts back to the generic drivers and I have to reinstall again.

Again, a driver cleaning I'm sure will fix this.. but still too lazy!  Maybe I'll try that now.
