There's little that's different between the planesets: EW and MW could be made into one arena, with the planeset falling right in between the 2. From what I can tell, EW is not early war. There's the Fw-190 and Spit9, which would be 1942 by my calculations.
Unleash the pink Spitfire MkI and make EW a 1940 planeset!:aok

but then you'll get the F6F dweebs killing all the EW planes. :D

No.

By chance, i´m just reading a John Weals book "Bf109F/G/K Aces of the Western Front". Book says II/JG26 had it´s first 190´s in aug 1941.

That wouldn't be a 190A-5.
As for the rest of you, relax... Adonai especially. Please show some maturity.

Why??? What would be gained?
For the most part, those who use the EW and MW arenas are happy with them.
-
No. When we get some more early war rides, EW will be a hell of a lot of fun.
Mid War is the best plane vs plane matchup arena.
-
What would be gained?
You're begging the question. The point is that there's almost nothing gained by having these two arenas split the way they are now; their planesets are far too similar.
Anyway, it was just a suggestion. I really like the MW arena as it is right now, and when I checked out the EW arena I said "there doesn't seem to be a big difference."
-
There is plenty to be gained keeping them. Both arenas have plane sets that cater to certain type of fighting.
The EW arena I always thought of as the WWI arena from AW. all that turning and burning !!
MW has a good set that does both TnB, but also has good angles and zoom fighting. Plane match up are close.
It's nice to get into fights with out having some dweeb come screaming in for a cheap cherry pick and then extend for a sector or two.
About the only you can gain by changing them is to piss of a bunch of players who are happy playing there.
-
Well said Stang and Fugitive !!!!!
Plane sets are great and the good fights are often even....
Like the comment about the dweeb screeeeeechin' down on ya for a cheap kill !!!!
See you guys in Mid !

Ok, then if early war is 1942, what do we call 1940?:lol

the "war" only started in 1942.... :noid
-
Am I missing something here or are people actually starting to fly in there in any numbers? Everytime I check the Early and Midwar arenas there's anywhere from 2-20 pilots in total.

A bunch? :rofl You have got to be kidding me. Try handful. I say leave them as is, but let's not make them sound more populated than they really are.

I log into MW almost every night US Prime time and there is consistently, on average, 40+ players in there.
The fights and confrontations that those types of numbers produce are a lot of fun.

With all due respect Slapshot, I was not pounding the numbers that turn out in EW/MW. I am just saying that with 4,000-5,000 registered pilots in AH, 40-50 really is not a bunch of people to piss off. My thinking is that if these arenas do not generate more interest, how long will Hitech consider them a viable business venture? My want is to make sure that there is still room somewhere in AH's servers for something other than the top 10 uber planeset that we all use in the LW arenas. The AVA is a good example. Due to it's recent changes, there is renewed interest in the older plane/vehicle sets.
