Intermitently AH will lock up now and then. sometimes more frequent then others.
Lately its been alot.
If you look at my Discos over the last month or so. all But one were due to thie game locking up on me. And my having to reboot just to be able to even get back into windows.
the "one" time being a very brief internet outage
tried updating, and trying different video drivers. and reinstalling the game.
same thing.
I can go for days without a problem, then suddenly get a rash of them
Tis getting REALLY annoying. Particularly as it always seems to happen at inopportune moments.
Anyway.

A squadie of mine and myself are having the same issue. In my case I can't tell you if it's my game or my machine. Happened to me last night and several of my squadies.
Of course it happened when I had some kills aboard and I get so few.

should have posted this in tech support

It's all COMCAST'S fault.
Even if you don't have COMCAST, it's still their fault.
Or it could be that you are from Jersey. (might be the jersey devil)
Nah, it's still COMCAST's fault.

I'm guessing you've got a memory error, the problem is that it can have alot of causes. I was going thru a bunch of similiar stuff and even reloaded XP on a seperate HD to eliminate driver/reg issues....so all I had was a clean install AH and 18 processes running...and still had issues.
I then swapped out memory from my PC8500 to slower memory just incase my MB had issues with the OCZ 1066...nada. MB was relatively new so I went ahead and swapped out the PS and all is suddenly fine. No indication my PS was bad and it was a good one...but if/when they start to go it can be very difficult to troubleshoot till it truely cooks off on you.
I'd start by blowing the dust out and reseating everything. You can run a new install of XP for 30 days NP as a test bed. If your PS is more then 2 yrs old or is marginal in output on the 12V rail then I'd consider swapping one out (you can always return it)....

PS is only a few months old. Only thing newer is the Vid card
For chuckles and out of disgust after the 3rd lockup in a row when trying to play last night I DL'ed Ntune and Oclocked the vid card and the problem ceased.
Problem is I must have had it oclocked too much cause when I went ot reboot by system. the screen went to all garbage about 30 seconds after windows loaded.
ended up having to do a system restore in safe mode to before I installed N Tune to get rid of it as It wouldnt let me uninstall in safe mode.Which seemed kinda odd.
but played for a while ealier today with no probs.
Sooo. Still kinda scratching my head over the issue

I don't know what your video card is, but it could be the drivers for it. I'm running an 8800gtx and have been having issues. I checked the NVidia forums and other people there have been having issues with the last 2 driver updates aswell. I rolled back my drivers to the 163.75 and tonight it seemed to run with out a glitch.

Mine's been locking up too. It's intermittent though. I'm thinking it has something to do with the wireless connection that we now have. More often than not, I don't even like to try to log on nowadays.

I've had this problem in the past, except it would only lock up "randomly" while in a GV.. and would lock up anytime I shut off the engine on an M3.
I had to jog my memory a bit... I remembered having the same problem with my old computer, and somehow managed to fix it. After I gutted and rebuild my machine (upgraded) it started happening again.
Then I remembered...
I use USB surround sound headphones + mic (LTB brand). I had a heck of a time finding the correct drivers.
Apparently they had made two different "models"... both are nearly identical, and according to the website use the same drivers, but they don't. I had the 'old' version, but the install disk came with drivers for the 'new' version.
The 'new' drivers worked flawless on absolutely EVERYTHING.. except GVing in AH. It took me a long time digging through the manufacturer's website and eventually I found the correct drivers for the 'old' version... and everything has been working fine ever since. (I ended up having to 'hack' into the file folder for all of their drivers, and figure it out from there, as there is no direct link).
Just goes to show how something so stupid can cause such a headache... And they never replied to my emails either...

Got rid of N Tune because every time I rebootedd the system I had to use system restore.
Some reason my system doesnt like N tune
Bumped my CPU speed a hair more from 210 to 213 and so far so good.
(knock on wood)
Been 3 days since my last lockup
