Title: Honesty among candidates
Post by: AKIron on January 17, 2008, 10:41:44 PM
You may not agree with Mike Huckabee on many things, perhaps on nothing, but you gotta admit, he isn't playing safe and perhaps dishonest politics.

Along with his stance on putting God first even when it comes to the constitution he raises the flag of states rights quite boldly knowing it's going to draw some fire later.

Yes Iron, That's why I like the guy and that's why I quote him in text. He's bold and straight to the point. I just wish he wasn't so liberal in some of his other matters. It would make choosing a candidate so much easier.

His chances of winning the election are:

Huckabee might tell you the truth, but Hillary will tell you whatever you want to hear, truth be damned.

I think his chances are pretty good if he can win the party nomination. Romney is still my first choice. McCain is just barely ahead of Giuliani for me, which is next to last place.

Rip, as I have said in other threads, don't underestimate The Huckster.  He's not the lightweight that some perceive him to be.  He shares a number of traits with Ole Slick, who I didn't think had a snowball's chance in hell of winning the 1992 election:  boundless energy, a folksey charm, a ready wit, and the ability to shoot from the hip in a tight situation.

Regards, Shuckins
