I'm having trouble getting into my gmail account. I can get into it on my new comp and not on my 8 year old Dell. (Yep, that was an AH stomping machine in it's day.) It was opening it just fine and now it won't. I'll bet its a resource issue. Anyone have a similar problem?

I am email dumb but...
My first thought is somebody hijacked your login info. Use a different address and contact gmail about your last login (date and time), tell them to respond to this email address and you can see if someone is logging in as you. Of course you need to remember the last successful login.

Well...are you going to this site (http://mail.google.com/) or are you accessing it from a program like Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or Mozilla Thunderbird?

A lot of others have been having the same problem over the past few days. It appears to be related to an update to IE-7 and does not affect users with Firefox.
They have given an alternate login address:
http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1
This worked for me after I developed the same problem.
Good luck.
