Hi There,
I found a short video where you see two P51's strafing a german train full of US POW's. They look like 361th mustangs 2 me because of the yellow nose, does somebody have any idea wich Fighter Group and maybe wich Squadron this could have been?
There are some close ups on the nose, but thats pretty much the only good profile you will get in this clip.
Still im not sure if these are fictional paints or paints they really used in WW2 since this is a short clip out of a movie.
Click this if you want to see the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPA-OpwB4oE)
Thanks in Advance..

Fictional. Clearly someone slapped some water based paints over someone's warbirds.
Guessing Fighter Collection 51s out of England, or possibly Rob Lamplough's "Miss Helen" which is a 352nd bird. Looked like his with a yellow spinner and white over the blue that's normally there.

Ah to bad its fictional, still love the way they filmed it!

That was that POW movie with Bruce Willis right? I seem to remember that shot. My favorite Pony shot was in Memphis Bell when the flight of 4 Ponies peeled off at the incoming Luftwaffe fighters.
Even in the game when I see P-51s escorting B-17s I cant help but get a little choked up. Its just Soooo perfect.

Most of the actual first hand accounts I've read of planes strafing troop trains take place after the POWs unloaded from the cars. German guards were pretty good about this (unless it was Jews on board). Only a few occassions have the guards just jumped off the train and let the prisoners endure the attacks.

I thought I seen a glimps of green overlay on the rear of the fuesalague, i could be wrong, wouldn't that make them 361st FG?

Hey let me ask this, since were on the subject. The Movie "Kellys Heros", you older guys remember it?, I know it was a Jug that attacked Kelly and co when they stopped for that break, and forced them all to walk. But what were the 4 fighters that overflew earlier in the movie, after the opening shot in the barn, when the crew was on the side of a road, when Kelly pulled up in the jeep and first told Joe he was going after the gold.
They looked like Jugs too but I couldnt be sure. Kellys Heros was a great movie, funny with a lot of great WW-ll equipment in it. It was shot in Yugoslavia if I remember right, back in the 70s, and had some really good battle scenes.
Thanks
