Title: SKUZZY!!! svchost
Post by: wrag on January 20, 2008, 04:57:45 PM
how many of these should be running when you 1st boot your machine?

Some sites I've looked at say 1.

Noticed right after fresh install I had 5 and have NEVER had less then 5 running?

I installed a a new printer/scanner and now have 6?

I'm using a prog called whatsrunning to check this stuff out.

It numbers the progs running and references each with a numbers then refers to the number when listing what prog is called by.

All the copies of svchost running are referenced to the same prog.

Yes :D

I use Whatsrunning and turn off some.

Then I use FSautostart and turn off more.

I usually have VERY LITTLE running when I get into AH.

Also if you don't have Triple Buffering enabled in you video card setting you might want to enable it.

And I think Skuzzy said something in the Tech Support threads about AA? set to 4?  Best to go look over in the TechSupport threads!

I just have AA disabled in my video card settings.

All it does is help to "smooth out" jagged lines across the screen.

But it eats up a lot of FR.  I'd rather have smoother gameplay than smoother lines!
