Post by: DYNAMITE on January 23, 2008, 09:00:25 PM
Hey all... got a car that you love?  Or maybe one you love to hate?  Well then don't be shy... lets see :aok

This is my 2007 VW GTI...

No engine mods... but I've put on some Koni Sport Springs, 18 Audi S6 wheels (replicas actually), and tinted the windows.

I loves my baby!

Post them up folks :D :aok

Well, I don't have any digital pics of any of my personal rides (98 Firebird, 84 Cutlass, 84 TType, and 70 K-30) especially not online.

However, there's always the race car that I build engines, transmissions, and rear ends for. I'm also the crew chief.

honestly since Nov 1995 (MAN I miss that car, it was a part of me):

then the head gasket blew a few months ago at 195,000 miles and my step-dad helped me buy this:

I have nothing worthy of posting here... 1996 Buick Skylark and 2002 Nissan Quest... transportation....

all the pictures of my older cars are in boxes....

My first car...
1975 Vega Gt
(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t92/Airscrew/Vegagt.jpg)

after Basic I went to Sheppard AFB and bought one of these...1969 Cutlass "S" convertible
(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t92/Airscrew/1969_Olds_Cutlass_442_Conv_Rvl.jpg)

later I got married and we got one of these
1982 Ford Exp....

then we got 1984 Renault... it pretty much goes downhill from there...

After all these years all I've ever wanted was...

this

I LOVED my Skylark, Buick, great cars, and reliable. never a single problem mechanically that was remotely serious until the 195K head gasket I mentioned.

I'd buy a Buick ASAP if I could afford it.

1970 Duster.

Made a few changes since this pic.
Different engine now. Now a 340 instead of the 318.  Flat black 6 pack hood, etc. Still the factory colour though.

And the other (gixer might like this)

1967 Suzuki T500.  (2 stroke 500 cc)
Was stored in a barn on a farm for over 30 years. It was my uncle's bike and when he passed away it just got shacked away on the farm.

I often get asked about the bike. Questions like how long did it take to restore , how much i spent on it, etc.

It has 3333 mile on it when i started working on it. Only took about 20 hours and $500 to get it to look like this. No major components were replaced. (Replaced the throttle and brake cables, battery, replaced the original tires, and spark plugs. Only had to paint it it because the solution to clean the rust out of the gas tank ate the pain a bit.) The engine was fine and not seized, hell it even tried to run on carb cleaner.

Crazy thing is, when i went to get the few parts that I did need, the guy that helped me track stuff down (it is amazing what they keep in warehouses for decades) was the same guy who sold the bike to my uncle in 1967.

(forgot to put the rubber kneepads back on the tank for this picture. Note the original tires.)

Now with an amazing 3600 odd miles on it.

'04 Kawasaki ZX-10R.

Completely standard, quite happy with both the power (LOADS!) and the handling so dont see the point in fiddling with something that aint broke.  Only addon I've stuck on there are heated handgrips (cos British winters get a bit cold).

Done 30,000 miles now.  She's never put a foot wrong......well except spinning the rear up in the wet occasionally.

I drive trucks only. My last car was a 1975 Vega Estate (stationwagon) I turned it into a monster vega.

I cut down a 75 GMC Jimmy frame, built mounts, fuel tank, and bumpers. I also took the stock 350 from the jimmy to approximately 375hp. Tranny was a 350 with valvebody work and heavy duty flywheel, 373 gears front and rear driving 38.5 monster mudders on 12 x 15 rims. Total package weighed in at approximately 6000 lbs.

I'll post pics later when I get home.

Yes, the license plate from the Milan went to the ZJ, it's much cheaper.

Where is the CJ?

Notice my stylish angled rear license plate.  Gives me about 20 lbs. of rear downforce so I can be a mad tyte drifter!

ROFL.  Can you imagine if that car actually could get up to speed?

In the Winter of 97, I had a 96 F-150 4x4 with 31" Mud Tires.   I was going to college and plowing through plowed 3" ft banks and this LOWERED S-10 started to follow me.    He lost ALL of his ground effects (and was putting them in the bed).   I stopped, laughed at him and continued on.

Traded it for the ZJ.    I finished the Engine Swap and my son wouldn't go near it.   I'll be lifting the ZJ this year.   :)

I know a guy with a 96 ZJ on 33s, he wheels with the Northern Cal Xterra club. That thing really does well on the trails I have seen it on. So well I was looking into one before I bought the Ruby.

His has the same bumper issues as yours.

Nice restoration mate, would like to do something like that myself but always end up riding more then spending time in the garage. Must be the Aussie climate. :D
