Anyone who has ever needed to use a damaged engine can attest to the fact that when oil and or coolant is leaking into the combustion section the engine experiences a definate loss of performance that only worsens along a variable time bell curve until the engine fails completely.
I look forward to the day in AH when a damaged engine behaves like a damaged engine.

"when oil and or coolant is leaking into the combustion section"
Is this what AH models? Or, is it a leak from the oil or coolant reservoir?
It seems likely that damage from a bullet which produced a leak into the combustion chamber would also produce <cough> additional damage, which would bring the engine to a halt in quick order. So, AH must be modeling a leak from the reservoir.
OTOH, a leak from the reservoir wouldn't tend to produce smoke. So, AH must be modeling a leak into the combustion chamber.
I'm flexible. :)

Where else would the black (oil) and grey (coolant) smoke be coming from?
White isnt really smoke is it? I believe white is intended to portray actual fuel leakage. If the reservoir were hit would there be smoke white, grey or black?
In any event, Im tired of fighting and dying to these belching tigers I wound minutes previously. These declawed machines should be going down to attempt a ditch rather than flying around hail mary full power as if nothing were wrong.

So I guess, when you cut to the chase, you are simply asking for a more detailed engine damage model?
Would that be a rational, unemotional way to ask HTC for a change in game features?
;)
