I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to everyone. I used to play this sim back in 95, 96 when it was called Warbirds. It was 1$ a hour I believe... went through a few $$ back then :)
I found another site that uses the name Warbirds but it seems pretty dead over there
I can't believe hitech and pyro are still doing a flight sim game....thats great!
I meet them both when I traveled to Texas (Dallas, Houston) for both the 95 and 96 conventions and had a blast. I went by the online name "icom". I don't remember why I stopped playing...something to do with AOL buying the game maybe?
I dl'ed the game but my pc is 7-8 years old and just can't handle it to well.
Believe it ir not I just threw away my TH rudders and CH throttle and stick just before moving up to NC last summer....didn't think I would ever use them again .
I am going to do some upgrading and try to get on in the next week or 2, time to try and ride that bike again LOL! I am looking forward to having some fun with everyone
Is anyone still playing on here from back then?

This was never warbirds.
Many folks from WB have come over though.

Welcome sir

You sure it wasn't Air Warrior you played on AOL back in 95-96?
It wasn't AOL that messed it up. It was EA who bought it and dumped it.

This thread contains a lot of people who have been around online flying since 300 baud modems were the hot thing.

Welcome back toxic. You'll find AHII a wee bit more more demanding on your situational awareness (and computer components) vs '97. Valuable resource info can be found at http://www.netaces.org
If you in the hunt for joystick/throttle replacement, I've got a Saitek X-52 - not the Pro version, but works just fine, I'd be willing to part with for $45 + s&h. The joystick is a "twist" handle (rudder input) and between the joystick + throttle you've got numerous command inputs at your fingertips. PM me if you're interested.
