Title: ME262 Disco Inferno
Post by: 68ROX on January 25, 2008, 07:21:18 PM
Can someone PUHLEZE explain to me why every time I take up a ME 262, I get Disco'ed and SCREWED out of my Perkies?????????

Seems like an coincidence that beats Las Vegas odds by 5Million to one.

The odds of this are you driving a riding lawn mower in reverse to phreeking PLUTO and living to tell the tale.

I can fly any other plane ad infintum and NEVER get discoed.

I take up an 262 and almost always on landing get discoed and screwed out of my perkies.  EVERY time.

Brand new Box, 2G ram, cable modem.

PHREEKING BS.

Um...  What processor you running Pent 4, AMD something newer, I would hope...  Er... Believe, with a newer mobo.

Hmm... I don't know what to say, but good luck with this, that's a lot of perkies to lose from a goose on the runway.

No, this just sounds like the gambler's fallacy, for which your analogy is so appropriate.;)

If it makes you feel better I once lost half my 262 perks when I exited the plane halfway on the grass/runway...it was counted as a ditch.

The last time I upped a 262 I was having disco issues, though I didn't disco that time. I over G'd pulling up at the bottom of a zoom, I was going waaaaay too fast. Fortunately I continued in a ballistic arc to land 1/2 a sector away from the action, so at least I didn't give a kill away but  it did laugh my prettythang off. I still lost about 250perkies though.

In the last four months you've disco'd 23 times.......

Your connection blows.

Who me?
:lol
Most of my disco's were caused by Internet issues between my ISP and HTC's servers. From what Skuzzy can tell me it's in the USA on the return path that packet loss is occurring.
I did have some issues that were related to my ISP but they got sorted out pretty smartly, after I'd spent money getting a new modem and router that wasn't part of the problem evidentially.
Never mind, I had a look and saw what the stats for myself and 68ROX were, evidentially it wasn't me that was being referred to

Rox, I saw a post about folks getting discoed when flying Lancs. If I remember correctly it was an issue with a custom sound pack.

20+ discos in 4 months is awful.  I get about 1/month if that (mostly when the HTC servers go belly-up like last weekend).

Either you have a bad connection or something else is interfering with it.

Have you run a virus or spyware scan recently?  If not, do so.

Do you have auto-updaters running (anti-virus, etc.)?  Turn them off.  In fact, turn off virus scan, spyware scan and all that other cr*p while playing.

Have you checked your system resources?  You need ~ 85% free.  Turn off needless background programs in start-up.

Do you regularily empty the temp folder, Internet caches and defrag?  If not, get into a routine of doing so regularily.

There's more but this is a start.

I was told once when it happend to be to turn down the audio acceleration  if i remember i had to dxdiag in the run box. then turn down audio.

it worked for me havent got disco since in 262...

btw 262 is the only plane i would get a regular   "link death"

68ROX

I have had a similar problem with the Spit16 while landing. The soundfile for the  flaps was corrupt and caused a game crash. Since replacing it with the sound from the 14 all is running normal. Maybe it's the same problem?!?

I wish I knew...

Pretty sickening to take up a 262, and get phreeking discoed every time....flushing all those perkies down the toilet and not being able to land my scalps.....

Seems like a game bug to me.

Happy to see that the staff is concerned.
