I don't see all that much difference between all of these politicians. I mean... really... come on. They're all americans, all want to [basically] do what they think is 'best' for the greater american population.
Some of them are just nuttier than others in what they think is 'best.' And some of them are just nuttier than others in the methods they'd like to use to get to that 'best' arrangement.

Have you ever seen The Devil's Dictionary? That reminded me of something you'd see in there. :lol

You've been in enough of the Ron Paul threads to know that's what a lot of people see in him. If you don't see it in him though, I'm not going to convince you in this thread.
I disagree, though, with you assertion that they are really doing what they think is best for America. I think they make a compromise between what they think is best for both them (as an individual politician) and for the country.
If a politician was really doing what was best for America, he would basically get up on a podium and say something to the effect of "eat your vegetables." No voter wants to hear that, even though it's desperately needed in this country, so very few politicians say it.
Most people in this country know that something is wrong (we all see different things broken), and it is not getting better. We may not all agree on what it is, but I really wish the politicians reflected this enough to get up there and have a debate about what it means to eat some political veggies rather than just promising us more political candy and junkfood.

Well, to really understand politicians, you really need to watch their bank accounts.
When a politician can enter the system poor as the rest of us, yet leave a billionaire, you know something is wrong.

Laser...You still confuse the hell out of me.

Tarmac, you're probably more right about that than I am.
[Devil's Dictionary]
Politics: A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.
Politician: An eel in the fundamental mud upon which structure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the tremblings of edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.
*edit*
Xargos ~ was fun. :) We'll have to go again another time.

I'm glad you have finally accepted Hillary as your next CIC.

There really is a red and blue America.. split as bad as in 1860.
You are right that there isn't much difference in the politicians tho.. they all just want to be the next American idol.
You are wrong to say that they want what is best for America... Maybe paul.. the rest.. they want what is best for them.

Yeah, right. That would be the 'nuttier' element that I spoke of earlier.

Politicians don't give an at's rass about what's good for the nation or its people. All they do is bend over so they can be reamed by the Party Line, and all they care about is whatever Special Interest the Party is is trying to climb in bed with.
-
the only thing that worries me about R Paul is he doesnt act like he has any balls. Hillary appears to have more balls than R Paul. Mubarack Hussein Osama acts like he doesnt want people to know if he has balls or not. We know McCain has the biggest balls of them all and to be president requires big balls.

Exactly.

txmom, your post makes me sad. I thought we were getting thru to you... You're right, most of them are the same. They're all willing to ignore the Constitution to further their agendas, all except for RP. Ron Paul's agenda IS the Constitution. (I don't know if you caught the debate where they made New Year resolution suggestions to each other, Ron's was that they reread their Oaths of Office...)
Yeager, you say RP has no balls. I believe it takes a pretty huge pair to stand up against the establishment the way he is... Standing up for Constitutional principals in this day and age and speaking truth to power aren't exactly the actions of a meek man.

It makes me wonder... what is your fixation on balls?

It didn't sound like he had a fixation on balls. When you're talking about the need for a president to have balls, there's just no other way to say it.
*edit* and in reference to Ron Paul. I'm sorry, if he looks/speaks/has the demeanor which gives the appearance that even I can kick his ass, he's just not the right guy.

The revlexive O'Club line of "evil government" is kooky.
Some of y'all make the government look rigorously rationale.
