Title: DA Moderators/Rules
Post by: Husky01 on January 30, 2008, 12:02:58 PM
Anyone who has been to the DA lately has seen it. Players going on giants rants of over the "all" channel, vulching fields, and interrupting private fights. My request is that like the TA some sorta of Arena message pops up stating a few basic rules; something like this.

Rules of the Dueling Arena
1. Outside of Furball island ask before engaging in a fight.
2. No vulching.
3. Please only bomb empty feilds.
4. Observer warnings from moderators.
etc...

Along with the rules mabey HTC can staff some moderators in the DA to enforce these rules when they are broken.

I don't know just kinda thinking out loud here.

:aok

I was at a field filming once, and I clearly said on "All" that I was filming, and please no one disturb me. Typical, a guy comes up in a Jet and HO's me.

It's a good idea, but who's gonna be the moderator? HTC certainly doesn't have the time to place one in there. The only people able to be moderators would be players. And that would present the whine of, "Why Can't I be a Moderator?"

The moderators in the main arenas now are unknown volunteer players( I believe). I don't see a reason HTC couldn't pick frequent DA players to be moderators in the DA.

Erm there are already AVA and TA staff. How hard would it to appoint DA staff?

There is no better way of saying it. I dont think there should be something like that, but i think there should be a little window that pops up when challanged. and it takes you to an isolated airfield where you cant get killed.

Well for starters HT could give the people that already have responsibilities just a bit more by adding the DA to the their list.

He has quite a big pool of people to work with if you consider all the CM's, AvA staff, and Trainer corps. Perhaps an incentive for those people to go spend an hour or 3 in the DA on a regular basis would help. You know I bet most folks would do it for perk points!

Either that or he's going to have to come up with a matchmaking system so 2 people to agree to duel. In which case killshooter and outside damage would be disabled. They could only be damaged by each other or the ground. Which frankly sounds like a coading nightmare.

Before you attempt to flame me for being here without a reason. I suggest you see how I've contributed by making TE tutorials that aid in making your MA terrains.

Many people who got started on these tutorials have highly recommended them to others so they get a basic understanding of how the TE works.

If ANYONE "kicked anyone" out, you'd hear complaining.

I figured I'd act on it, rather than read and "move on" like most did.

Again, I volunteer.    Sig's have nothing to do with it.

Well I'm not asking if you make terrains. I'm asking you if you play. No offense. :D

Masherbrum, I still blame you.:D

angelsandair, I used to play a lot in H2H. Ran a Team, GVs, and Airport server. Interestingly enough people liked my Airport server so much, when I joined theirs I immediately became the designated ATC. I rarely got to fly.

Sounds like Co-Op, I hosted a few of those. They were EXTREMELY popular. Everyone including me enjoyed every mission we setup. The only downside was organizing the teams and setting up the missions. Doing those tasks took a while.:)
