I had Dish for years, but they finally pissed me off one too many times. DirecTv still has a couple strikes left.

Right now DirecTv has more HD programming than anyone and I got to have all the HDTV I can get.

Why?

To justify buying a 65inch HDTV.

I had Dish for years.  I really enjoyed having the chance to catch shows I missed on the other coast, etc.

One constant program I had tho was lip-synch.  The receiver or something was always a split second off.

Then their "auto-pay" fouled up one month, yanking a few hundred bucks out of my account instead of $64.  Since then, no auto-pay for me.  I was lucky to catch it quick and prevent any overdraft issues.

I thought about going to Direct TV or Dish again once I bought my house.  But I recalled the few times weather issues would ruin the picture.  They were far and few between...but ALWAYS happened during the shows I was watching!

Almost the exact same problem I had. One month they left 1 digit off my account number and charged me for a bounced check. It was their fault not mine and they would never admit they were wrong.

**** Charlie!

We use Direct TV as well. I don't have local channels but I do get both East and West coast feeds because we are RV'ers. I just crank up the broadcast antenna for local channels.

This is commercial that runs on the TV station I work for. (Cable/Broadcast) Direct TV setup a booth a few blocks down from our Broadcast Station, so not wanting to miss a beat or a good story my boss went down there and got this gem.

Back when I was subscribed to C-Band, I had a FTA receiver that I used every now and then.  I still have it, its a Satwork St-3618. Still have all my receivers, my 4DTV unit, and C/Ku band feedhorns too. I had to give it up when I moved but I still have all the hardware

Id like to get back into it but I want a Ku band dish that I can turn, not one that is slaved to just one satellite.

A couple hundred bucks throws you into overdraft? Sounds like you are living beyond your means to me.

We had Direct for years, went to Dish (A: price increases... B: free Dish dvr) But my dvr has an annoying habit of losing bits of audio after the recording has sat on the hard drive for a few weeks (NEVER video, ALways audio)---called them 2-3 times, they were nice, and talked me through some useless BS (like MY company does for ITS customers--don't ever get ADT in your house or business:eek: ) But, the one thing they shied away from is replacing the frikkin dvr---I might take Direct up on one of their offers. (RPM, I think the grass is actually BROWN on the other side of the fence:( )

Wow! He said "A few hundred bucks" I don't keep more than a few hundred in my checking account either.  Where did you get "a couple" out of "a few"? Also, am I living beyond my means also? Who are you to make that kind of comment? What are you basing your conclusion on? You know nothing of LePauls finances or mine either for that matter.

Mind your own business fella.

Austar satellite @ $78/m
We get everything but the sports, we didn't watch them enough to justify the extra cost, for some reason the addition of the sports pack costs a lot. I guess sports fanatics are willing to get screwed to watch.
Most of the time our daughter has it hijacked for Nick Jr or Playhouse Disney, the rest of the time it's on CI, History or Discovery :D

The comment of a true prettythanghat.

I never keep more than five hundred in my checking account for exactly this type of reason.

You really are an arrogant arse.  My bet it is you that is "living beyond your means".

Well Aquashrimp, I had my mortgage payment that week, car payment and a few others.  Kooky me, I pay my bills.

So when the Dish Network bill went out for $540 versus the $64 it usually is...yes, that caused some drama.

But I imagine you live in housing, food stamps and get social security.  So you wouldn't know much about earning a living now, would you?

You've been lucky. They lied to me from day one about "free installs" and local channels. When they started charging me close to $600 a month for  a $150 package I decided to go back to cable. Every month I would have to call and find out why the bill was so jacked up. I would spen a hour and a half on the phone to get it fixed and they never could tell me why it was happening.

#%##$ing Dish bastids! I was TRYING to watch the season premier of Lost (which I had recorded Thurs night) Waited SIX MONTHS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED! The one hour intro was all chopped up, the season premier episode was all chopped up....totally unwatchable---got so pissed I threw the remote into the wall (lol thats the 3rd one in last 4 years---other two owe their demise to the Buccaneers:rolleyes: ) I'm gonna brow-beat every one of those worthless salamanders on the phone until ONE of them sends me a new dvr (mebbe a remote too...things are 50 bucks) I'm torn though about Direct, as they have XM and Dish has Sirius, and I hate XM

NOW, I have to drive down the mountain, park in front of the Holiday Inn for 35 min to download the episode off Itunes(http://chat.anncoulter.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/083.gif)

Amazing comment coming from a 24 year old.    You MUST be lasersailor's shades account.    Only you two would say something this ignorant.
