...ramming planes from behind during takeoff on a vulch.
FFS get some basic avoidance skill.
-
:rofl
-
That's not even close to the all-time low. Sorry, that's just a whine.

No, sorry.
A whine is an excuse to what you should have done differently in a detrimental situation.
You tell me what you can do when you're barely pushing 120mph and your wheels are still down.
Please....go ahead.

Maybe watch the airspace before trying to take off?
I mean, if the based is being vulched and you know it and you still take off - you take the risk. If you die doing that it's pretty much irrelevant if you were shot down or rammed.

I had someone try to do that to me a few days ago! Except he augered at the end of the runway instead of rammming me :lol .

I take the risk of being rammed from behind?
My initial comment wasn't meant to put light on vulching...the airspace was hot and I tried to get a bird up for the defense.
My beef is if you're going to vulch, fine vulch me, but ramming from behind when you miss with your guns is just ridiculous.

Is it that important how you were killed? Your chance was pretty low to live anyways. Now he botched it (could have been me ;)) and by accident there was a collision on your front end. No big thing.
If that's a "new time low" to you, I congrat you to your supreme game experience in the MA's! :aok
-
Actually ,"the new all-time low" is the IQ that cant figure out the collision model.
Now that is low.
-
Eh, it happens, too low, too fast, hanging in it too long, ack hit, wasn't intentional on the part of the vulcher. Certainly not a new low.
There really are no "new" lows, it's all been done.

tray upping from the hangar, pick the right plane, 1/4 tank of gas, stay low, WEP on, notch or two of flaps at airspeed, peel off hard right or left pulling up gear ASAP. I personally try to pull through the hangar pad or put some other obstacle between me and vulcher. Timing is everything. I can usually get up from a pretty heavily capped field and get going a turn or two.
-
I know you are looking for a way to counter and the only advise that I am able to provide is do not up at that base.
I also do not feel that these rammings are intentional I would be more inclined to believe that they are accidental due to the fact that newer players have a more difficult time realizing that they are that much faster than you and find themselves closing way to fast to pull off. I being a newer player have done this several times to planes in flight and at altitude. So I can imagine it happens even easier in this situation. It can be very challenging to get used to closure rates in this game.
Just my outlook on this subject

well..the first thing....don't up fro a capped base...........second thing........wep, and a notch of flaps'll get ya off the ground at 120 or a bit lower........third thing....a little rudder to steer yourself to one side or the other of the runway.......at 120, even if you are still on the ground, your rudder is effective, so you do have some directional control.......fourth.......do n't up from a capped field......:D

Keep in mind, that because of lag, in his front-end he may not even of rammed you. He may have avoided you nicely and continued to climb. If you're the only one that died then that's exactly what happened.
-
You get a new plane. Who cares :)
Had a guy in a 190 come screaming down the runway at my 38G, engines not started yet. I figured what the heck and opened fire while sitting still. Got em good as he came at me nice and straight. He died.
Not sure if that qualifies as a HO shot if I'm on the ground, not moving :)

Depends. Was the runway a giant conveyor belt moving in the opposite direction of your plane intended path?

Anything goes during a vulch session :aok

I'm sorry Hal. I called the dairy, and they don't have enough cheese to go with your whine. Looks like you are S.O.L.
P.S. Try lifting off from a NON CAPPED BASE next time.
-
I have been rammed in an Ostwind by enemy aircraft and have'nt lost yet! Just a thought...
Oink

I guess if you are going to be a lawn dart ya might as well make the most of it.
-
I thought the guy who somehow got his PT Boat behind a runway had a good time. Not an example of "low" at all. A bit odd to say the least. But he had to have had a hoot until he either died or exited.

i almost forgot one thing..........by the sound of it, this wasn't just your average furball near the base, with one single guy commin to vulch ya.....it sounds as if they were in the process of taking this base......and in that instance.....all bets are off....i don't ho, and i don't ram on purpose...although i've misjudged closure rates often.....but in base defense when you're tryin to capture....i'll do whatever i have to to sotp ya.....if i'm in the air, and capping your base for the capture......i'm gonna do whatever i have to do to keep you out of my airspace.....even if it means i have to ho ya or vulch ya...........in the average furball.......it's loike a rollercoaster ride......i get my thrill(and i think a lot of you do too)from the twisting, turning and manuvering for position......unfortunatly i'm not that good at it yet......
just my 2 cents.......

Hehe...Sometimes by multiple aircraft in one sortie. Running into an aircraft on the ground must be considered harder to do therefore worthy of a whine about getting ran into. Fighter vs. armored vehicle collisions are amusing if you are in the armored vehicle. :D

I am new to this game, and i came across this thread, i am not trying to be rude or anything, but i am a girl, i get vulched alot and you dont see me in here whining or anything...

I doubt seriously if anyone intentionally rams some one on the runway. With alt and E, why?
