Defense looked ok but I think Brady spent the night on the turf
Kudos Giants. Maybe the Pats ego will drop a few hundred notches now
-
Classic cheating "I'm better than you" performance. With 1 second left in regulation, the coaching staff and most of the 733t losers are at the locker room door. Good riddance New England. Excellent game NY!
Haven't enjoyed so many sacks in a long while. Hows that Arizona sod taste Brady?

Poor sportsmanship... guess with all that winning, they forgot how to lose with class

Lay off with they left the field so they're classless. They have more class than most teams.
The clock had hit zero, if any of you had noticed. Even the giants and fans were in the middle of the field.
Pats came back out and finished the game.

You didn't watch the same game the rest of us did. Bellicheat was in the locker room Before the Giants O had come onto the field, with time on the clock.

The ringleader Belichick didn't... he went straight to the locker room after they put that second on the clock... the players followed after that

Don't know what channel you were watching, but I saw 2 seconds at the "end" of the play, then 1 second a bit later.
Never showed 0
-
Whether it hit zero or not both sides seemed to think it did. Belichick had all ready gone out and shook Coughlins hand. I mean, the only guys that went back for the last play were the guys left on the field or not down the tunnel.
They had Moss out there.
You guys got what you wanted. Someone beat the pats. You'd think that would be enough.
-
Clock ran out, 1 second back on, ran out again, 1 second, ran out, 1 second, 2 seconds, 1 second, then the call that another play had to be run.
I noticed a few instances where they couldn't figure out when to stop the clock, running it down after time outs were called, adding time between plays, etc. You'd think with all that money the NFL makes, that they could hire some less spastic timekeepers.
Entertaining game nevertheless.

I think it was FOX making the errors
there was one point at 1:22 left in 4th quarter where they forgot to run clock. Once again, I hope that was FOX not the NFL
-
I used to have season tickets to the Saints in the 80's when Archie was still their quarterback. I used to watch Cooper, Peyton and Elli throw the football when they were little kids, on the Superdome floor before the game. I can't tell you how happy I am tonight. In spite of all the money they've made, they are still good boys - more accurately, damn fine men. They were raised well.
At least now we don't have to live with years of edited footage that would show Randy Moss knocking a defender down to make his game winning catch. Fox wouldn't show the whole rout. No highlight could ever show the whole rout because it was obvious offensive interference. But now the point is moot and its confirmed - cheaters never win.
-
Ah, that could be the case, but Fox doesn't have much of an excuse either.

No, I agree with Repo. Watching Brady get LEVELED on the last drive on 3rd down was the PERFECT end to their bought season.

Brady went down more than a asian hooker
I knew the giants could do it.
The pats were playing with fire the last time they played, this time, they got burned
-
Pats didn't blow it. They just plain got beat by the Giant's defense w/ well timed and disguised blitzes. Their near constant pressure on Golden Boy Brady put the lights out to the perfect season and any claims to *Greatest Team of All Time*.

THIS TIME, when they went to the well of "Calls going their way" and "making something out of nothing", it was empty.
The Giants came to play, NE thought they'd win "in cruise control".
-
I just hope I can turn on ESPN without seeing Brady, or hearing how great he is, at least for a few hours.
Ha! Just turned on ESPN, and it's Brady, and some plastic head talking about his great performance, except for the 5 sacks. gah
-
While I agree with Karaya in that it was suer-sweet to watch Brady get flat out steamrolled on 3rd down with less than 40 seconds left; its even better to watch Pats fans cry.
I love you too Filth.

Yup. The best moment was seeing the lone fan with the "18-1" sign. SO little, never said SO MUCH.

Nothing personal Repo..still in the moment.
Cry-ya...Ive been waitingfor that -1 all season. Sucksit hadto happen in the last game but oh weel, we still beat the crap out of the rest of the league. Giants vs Pats still 1-1.
We'll still be a contender next year..how bout yer team?
BTW what is yer team? Vikings? LOL

MY team? I haven't the money to afford shoes for one of those overpaid oafs let alone an entire team or the attention span to call one my favorite. I'm a college football lover. I like the players when they play with heart to GET their NFL contract, not after.
Just some friendly banter Filth, no offense taken bud.
:)

you know my team beat your pats in the super bowl 11 years ago, Brett if had been given the chance this year I still believe he would have spanked your patty-cakes handily.
We'll see next year.

Hell I didn't see a handshake either... kinda hard to shake hands when in the last few seconds yer bellybutton is handed to ya. Bellicheks walkout showed his true colors.
I hope that 3rd Qrtr hit on Brady left a bruise, physically and emotionally. NE thought they had this game wrapped up.
Nuff said. WTG Giants.

Belicheck did shake hands. It was when both teams flooded the field before the final kneel down. He then proceeded off to the locker room where he gave his post game conference during the trophy presentation. That's class for ya.

You're really drunk. We've had to listen to "how great the Patriots are". Well face the music, regardless of "Who Repo and Karaya's teams are." The Patriots choked. This fact remains.
Losing one game makes the 18 wins pointless. Sorry, no excuse will work.
This is mint watching the "grasping of straws".

Best play, defensively, of the game. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9K6E1Ls0Lg)
-
was a tough knock down drag out defensive fight at the end of which, inspite many opportunities to win new england choked. belicheat simply made some very bad decisions.
maybe now eli manning will stop being called the other manning. archie manning must certainly be proud of his boys, back to back superbowls and all.
congratulations new york fans.
IMO if new england had won and gotten their perfect season it would have been tainted with the fact of their less than above board practices.
-
'72 Dolphins are still NFL's only perfect team in a season. That makes them the best.
Sorry Pat fans! Losing the SB just made your team "the team that finished 2nd place and everyone forgot"
-
Best game in years and I slept through it.
I caught a flu bug from my kids and by 3.30pm on Sunday (my time) I was shivering in bed. Fell asleep and woke up at 2.00am, 3.00am, 4.00am and then got up this morning at about 5.30am.
Suprisingly I thought I would be deathly ill today but I'm not too bad. A bit achy and tired is all...with a slight sore throat.
Well done Giants. I really wanted to watch the game as Antonio Pierce is a local boy.

I agree. The Giants flat out beat them. They controlled the line of scrimmage, protected their QB better, coached better...ect I will also add that I picked the Giants in week 1 of the playoffs.
OK, I didnt actually pick them but I did tell everyone to, "watch out for the Giants, they are the darkhorse". And I won $200 on them yesterday because I knew they were going to at least cover the spread.
Still a remarkable season for the Pats and Im just glad it was a great Super Bowl. So many are over by the 3'rd quarter that you have to savor the ones that are nail biters to the end. Now Once again I have to survive without football until August.:cry
-
With the Giant's underdog status(When you consider NE's record over the year) and the close score-the Giants actually coming from behind-This had to be one of the best SB's ever. Too many superbowl's suck because they were blowouts, or too spread in score to even be close. This one had everyone on the edge of their seats, even when NE got the ball back with only :35 on the clock.
I'm pretty sure every other team in the NFL now know's what to do next year. Put pressure on Brady, sack him a few times...and he folds' under the pressure. I doubt the Patriots' will have a year like this one next year.

The Patriots choked. This fact remains.
I believe there is a difference between a team choking and getting beaten. The Pats simply got beat by the Giants last night. Choking would have been the Pats beating themselves with penalties etc. :)

Eagles gave you a run.. Ravens gave you a run... Giants gave you a run...

The Pats "DID" have a lot of penalties in the game, hold on let me check. I cant find how many penalties each team had tho they had about the same in yards lost. Actually ,thinking about it, The Giants probably had more hurtful penalties. That one "12 player on the field" one I almost puked over. You just dont go to the SB and get that kinda penalty. And wasnt the Pats one TD setup with a Giants penalty?
Overall the Refs did a good job and just let the teams play. I cant stand a SB that constantly has penalty flags thrown.
When the Pats went for that 4'th down conversion instead of kicking the FG I told my son next to me, "that was a big mistake and its going to cost them".
Key stats. 1st downs- Giants 4 rushing and 13 passing. Pats 3 rushing and 17 passing. Giants were 8/16 on 3rd down conversions. Pats were 7/14. Giants had 91 rushing yards, Pats had only 45. Ely was 19 for 34 in the air for 255 yards. Brady was 29/48 for 266 yards.
I cant find time of possession but I believe it favored the Giants. The way you beat Brady is to keep the football out of his hands. The Giants "D" had 5 sacks but were always in Brady's face, most of all Strahan. Both teams punted 4 times, "and when was the last time the Pats had to punt as many times as an opponent"?
The Pats Welker almost beat the Giants on his own. I cant believe that guy is actually white. Hes to fast for a white guy.
I played and coached offense. But Ive always believed that its defense that wins big games for you. The Giants are World champs because of their defense. Just a terrific football game.

Yes, I amazed how quick he got fast too. He'd catch the ball and bam, he was instantly 5 or more yards down the field. He made the defense look like they were standing still. He is annoyingly good.

I don"t know about anybody else , but all the close ups of Brady, he seemed to be Tired and lacked his normal upbeat leadership. Of coarse a few slams to the turf can have that effect on you. ;)
