Can my joystick affect how the aircraft handles, it seems that no matter what im flying everyone can turn tighter then i can at a higher airspeed. even if im in the same aircraft they are. can someone help me this is getting frusterating.

The use of landing flaps and centering the slipstream can have a large effect on turning performance.

Do you have stall limiter on? If so, that will cause exactly what you described.
And, yes, the learning curve is frustrating. But, it always will be.
Enjoy the addiction.
HONK!

When you say "centering the slipstream", do you mean a coordinated turn?

I dont think the stall limiter is on, and if theyre going faster then me and I cant put out my flaps how are they turning better then I am?

The "stall limiter" setting is on by default I believe. I don't remember where it is....Im at work, but check under the settings in the notebook when you are in the game. Its on the same page as where you turn on and off your tracers.
As for out turning you, it is most likely they are starting their turn befor you, so they get around before you. If you wait till your close to start your turn, your already wayyyyyyyy too late. Film your flights, then watch them with the trails turned on. It makes it very easy to see when they turned and when you did.
The frustration is something we all go through. This is not your everyday "shoot'um up" game. There is a big learning curve and in most cases takes months to get going, in my case years :D

You'll also want to check your stick calibration. I had an issue with my old stick where full deflection of the stick didn't actually deflect to the stops in game. While you're on the ground at a base that isn't being attacked go into the sick settings/calibrations from the clipboard. Check each axis individually. Each axis (rudder, elevator, ect) has it's own axis you can calibrate by clicking the "advanced" box. It will bring up a screen next to the clipboard that has little green sliders that will show you if you're getting full deflection in game. If you pull you stick all the way back and the green slider doesn't go all the way to the bottom, you're not getting the full range of motion in game. Hope that helps.
