Aside from specially organized events/missions, last night in the AvA was the most fun I've had in AH since I joined. Congrats and thanks to the folks who've set this up and to those who are organizing the two sides.

I'm very new to the AH2 community, only been playing about a week and a half. I keep reading how much fun AvA is and wondering how one might go about joining in the fun?

Just stop by in the AvA arena anytime ( peek is best, more players ). And choose your side you wish to fight along side. ( PS: Join axis :D ). Once you've settled give mister fork a shout on the AvA forums to request access to your respected sides private forum.

Yeah I am having a very good time in there(even with 200 tuned).
I had some good fights and some bad ones...and don't get me started on trying to callibrate bombers in there, but overall it's better than the MA's IMHO.

my suggestion from one new guy to another, go in, pick a side. talk on f12 to those around you and work with them. if you're not comfortable talking to them just listen and learn.
there are great people on both sides that will help you along. i've probably shot my mouth off once to often and maybe pissed a few off, but theres always someone willing to help you out.
if you see a bunch of planes forming up on a runway, ask where their headed and see if you can fly with them. they'll always take an extra player if one is available. you can use f12 to talk or type on the country channel and let them know you're new and would like to participate.
its truly a fun place with lots of things to do!!!
if you join axis look up tbarone or storch or stampf or even truekill. they are the most knowledgeable people I know. thats not to say there arent others out there, but these guys are the ones that took me in.

"Helping the new guy" is Axis speak for brain-washing. Come fly Allies where the planes are awesome, and we do not make you march like a goose! The Allies have pre-approved you for a great position within our ranks. All you have to do is go to the AVA arena, change country to Rooks, then type on country channel to find the command channel vox or another friendly pilot to help you get started. The evil Axis must be stopped!:aok
