Can there be a way that perkpoints could be added to those who join and carry out missions? This may help getting missions together. Yes I can see all the negative reasons that people would only join to get perks etc etc bla bla.
My point is this. We get a rather sizable across the board perk point package for winning the war, it would be nice to get a smaller version of that for acheiving some given goal that would have to be spelled out by the mission planner. IE Sink a carrier, take a base, drop a certain tonnage of bombs on a city etc.
Succesful mission means maybe like 5 - 10 perks per person in mission.

A, 25 perks per category is anything but a "sizable perk point package".
B, you're asking that people who don't do anything receive perk awards merely because they join a mission. This would take perkfarming to new all time lows.
C, you already get perk points for doing the things you mentioned. I can't see any reason to reward those who don't actually do those things. Again, it's all about rewarding people to fly around in swarms, not fighting, doing a sort of scavenger hunt.
If you really want perks, shoot down people, not sheds.

Perhaps there could be a perk point multiplier, like 1.5X, for missions. You only benefit if you earn perk points.

So everyone who ups forms a mission, and instead of proper missions, we just have hundreds of people earning extra perks by joining missions to vulch or deack or whatever.
Not seeing a positive impact on gameplay, and I don't think it would have the desired effect of getting people to play the game the way you think they should, which isn't necessarily a good thing for gameplay either.

I have to agree with Hub. Perks are relatively easy to gain anyway.
You have to understand that you will create the unintended consequence of 50 people joining every mission -- none of who have any intention of actually working toward the mission's objectives.

I'm not a fan of that idea either, now that you mention it. You should only get perks for killing an opponent, IMO.

LOL Well sounds to me like you would just rather do away with perks. Fine.
Im thinking that the mission planner who can be anyone would have the ability to also limit who joins the mission as well. That way the mission would go on with those who truely want to accomplish the mission, not just freeloaders. AND you have to accomplish the mission to be awarded the points. No just so called swarming around the arena:D
There are many out there who love missions and join. I think this would encourage less furballing and more strat. Hi Tech really did a lot of overkill design in this game. Why? Because that is so much of what people do. Furball. I do it too, but I dont live for the vulch.

I said nothing about doing away with perks, just that rewarding people for attacking inanimate objects isn't an idea I like. I was pretty clear on that, I thought.

im sorry i committed a sin and didnt read above posts, but i wanted to say this so badly before and i dont like to search (so i dont create threads)...
we should have a bonus perk MULTIPLIER for missions, and only the perks are awarded if you do something that will normally give you perks, also it should only be if you are in a mission with like 8-10+ people in it ^_^

Gowan That would work. That is the kind of thing Im after. I never said this idea was for people to go crash into mountains, laugh like drunken sailors, then get awarded perks.
Im saying that it would be nice if missions awarded perks as they do when a country wins the war. How many people sit and do nothing for winning the war? Yet they get perks for it.
So I do not see any problem with a mission of say 20 or so folks getting perks for being in a mission is all. I really like the idea of the multiplier.
Keep in mind you dont fly mindlessly all over the areana burning time and gas and get a gazillion perks. That is not what I said.
Im saying the planner would have to place an objective in the mission and it would have to be accomplished for the perks to be awarded is all. Sheese.
The planner could also have ability to allow who he she wants on the mission. You could limit missions to 25 players too. Its a way for say people who bring extra troops and dont get points, or fighter escorts for a half hour with nothing to show for it. Its a way for them to get something for their time in support of the mission.
Like say you take a base. How about the guy who brings troops instead of getting away with up to 15 points or whatever, he gets 5 and so does everyone else. As long as they were in the mission. Whatever...

Basically your using this idea to entice people to join missions, what if, like many people say, this game is more about fighting than it is for the mission/land grab? Other than announcing on the country channel that you have a mission up there really isn't much anyone can do to "get" people to join missions. Its a fact that you'll have to live with.
Long ago I use to run missions, and join missions, but for me that isn't worth the trouble any more. Give me one good fight a night and the other 10 deaths don't mean a thing :)
The other thing is people have a lack of confidence in there ability to "help" in a mission. Giving them bonus perks isn't going to get them to join either. The "fear" of screwing up someone else's mission will out weigh the rewards.
Whats the answer to getting more people to join a mission.... maybe just stressing the "fun" of the mission and NOT weather you capture a base or not. If your missions start growing some of those "furball" types might start joining because you guys are just having too much fun.
After all this is a game and its about having fun, not following a set set of rules, or being held accountable for certain mission objectives, I can get that stuff at work !

Actually I was told this was a great idea by fellow players in the MA.
and I still think it is. Im not sure that many folks are not insecure. Your right they are to affraid of messing up another's mission. Then maybe you "Senior Folks" ought to take newbs under you wings and post some fun missions where newbs can learn and have a great time too.

I agree. This is supposed to be a fun game and I try hard to get people to laugh, cut up jokes, auger into ords as I blow them up. etc. and I still have a half way decent score.
I just know how fun missions are and would like to have ways to get folks to join. Perks is just one way I thought I bring up. Thanks for the reply

Amen to that! When I post missions, it's not all exclusively about accomplishing set goals. I try to keep in mind that it could go either way, and that is what the game is. Win or lose. I try to convey to those involved that it's all about fun, even if the mission doesn't work.
And further on that point, that's whey I like to post an occasional "pea-shooter" mission. If we have a night where we're getting our butts kicked, then we may as well get kicked in style.:aok

How about this,, if you take a base good for you you get to see all the ppl paying taetaion giv the WTG. but if a contry looses a base EVERY ONE in that zone or perhaps on that side looses a set amount of points depending on the size and statis of the base lost. Say its a V base then just the ppl in that sector will all loos points = to the highest perk GV, if its a A base then you loos = to the highest point air craft. If its a sector base then every one on the side that lost will loos sed points. ? at least it will help make ppl want to do more then furball. First time a sector base that is an air bas gets lost and every one looses 30 perkies I bet the furbalers will be quicker to help the team. BTW furballing is not just and air thing, thoe GVs dont do it as much its still not helpfull,, TT is fun but,,,,,,,

this could not work because there would be ppl who would make a mission for 1 when ever they wanted to furball and set the time for a min and join so everytime they up for a furball its a "mission"

kill, the thing is...this is not that much of a strategy game....this is a great game HiTech created for fun....
im a bish and my Co Falcon23 mankes many missions that i openly join....
his strategy works and the missions are fun...but not everyone is into discipline and organization...which makes the game fun and fresh

Not everyone is. But to that end many are. Again you'd be suprised how many people have thought this a great idea. Im not sure HiTech is into changes from these boards anyway so its at least good debate.

if you take perks away from people it may make them work harder to save the base, but what would it do to thier self esteem if they lost the base? what good would it do anyway to take away perks for losing a base? HTC would lose so many pilots, money, ect. it wouldnt be funny. eventully, if it got bad enough, they would have to posibly close up shop because they didnt have enough people to keep paying the ad bills, the buisness bills, pay the employies, and all the other expenses in running a buisness.
