That thing would be a monster if someone loaded it with slugs or sabots.

I actually did see the end.  But why are they using buckshot on the targets?  Its a myth that buckshot spreads out tremendously and will hit anything in front of you.  It only spreads 1 inch for every yard it travels.  For house to house clearing, some nice heavy slugs or sabots would take a target down with 1 hit.

This one is much better, fires any 12g round at the same time at a faster rate.Oh i forgot, its Russian:)

Both weapons look great. The first one has more manageable recoil, but is not as light or compact as the second. I hate to tell the guy who developed it, but it doesn't matter what gun you fire it from, no regular 12 gauge shell is going to be effective at 200 yards, not even a 12 gauge 3 1/2" magnum. The weapon is effective enough and impressive enough without the exaggeration.

We can tape Saiga to a 2by4,and we'll have aa12

the russian one is not near as good.. the recoil just makes it less effective.

Did you notice the fat guy spent about 5 seconds just getting ready to shoot?  stance and set to the shoulder?  even then..  he had little or no control over the weapon on full auto.

I would rather have a striker.. the revolver style south african shotgun than that abortion.   it fired plenty fast and was much more controlable.

Wouldn't shooting someone in the same room as you with a grenade round (with a blast radius of 9 feet) be extremely dangerous?

That weapon has no recoil damping, is not made of stainless steel, and does not have a large capacity drum magazine.

Its a military weapon.  Our guys and gals do a lot of house to house fighting with insurgents.

Check out the pistol shrimp.  It has a claw snap that is equal in power to a .22 caliber round!

For CQB, Bird Shot is the best.   Just as effective and doesn't go through the drywall as easy.

I wasn't asking the tactical purposes, that's why we have thrown grenades, I was asking why anyone in their right mind would shoot a grenade while in the room.  That's just plain dumb.  Just because our soldiers do a lot of house to house fighting doesn't mean they're going to shoot off some grenades 3 feet away, they have common sense.

Lobbing nades into windows of next building that is 100 yards away.....yeah...no use for it. Much cheaper than LAW or 203.

This quote has my vote for dumbest quotes of 2008. Bird shot doesn't go though anything easily.

Bird shot is a poor, poor, choice. Bird shot, being lighter starts to spread much faster than the tighter packed, heaver, buck shot. Because of this, bird shot is less likely to do much of anything against bad guys in a CQB/CQC environment, except, piss him/her off when you pepper their location with in-effective bird shot. In short bird shot will not do much, but get you killed.

Most CQC/CQB operators choose to go with a low recoil "tactical" double buckshot load. It has a little less power than the standard buck loads. It has less recoil for more controllability, the pattern holds nice and tight, and there isn't much of an over penetration issue if you miss your target. (Yes you can miss with a shotgun. They do not work in real life like they do in Holly Wood.)

Or call the Air Force and drop a 2000lb JDAM so there is no longer a building to clear.

Good, but I ended up selling it. Still holding on to stuff from four years ago? Let it go man..life is too short. It is even shorter when you shoot at bad guys with bird shot.

Sorry, I just utilize what Marines from FAST platoons pass on from experience.

Let what go?   You've always been the one inciting personal attacks ever since you tuned my private vox and started cussing like the "class act" you pretend to be.

You know, sort of like the Glacier Girl thread?  :aok

That isn't at all what I meant, I was talking about being inside a room.  I agree that it's great for things 100 yards away, but was wondering why Shrimp thought someone would fire one of these at something 4 feet away.  I never said it was useless, I think it's great.

Alright, I am going to bow out..it is clear you live and die with my posts. Arguing with you is like arguing with my wife. It is pointless. She is a woman, and you act like one, you keep fighting the good fight. You are winning. Cheers..good luck with that "uber" knowledge you got from Marine FAST units..it will serve you well, I am sure. :aok

You're the one stalking my posts.   Take you own advice.    Your "bravado" is about as plain as Richard Simmons.   But, you have none.

You're nothing but a "wannabe".    Deal with it.

That gun is RUTHLESS.  I'd love to have one of those things the next time some sucka cuts me off in traffic (yeah, kidding).

Ok, question time (for anyone willing to hazard a guess) - what about the weapon's design makes it lower recoil?  My assumption is that they reduce the recoil by using munitions with less powder in 'em, but I didn't see that they actually mentioned how it was accomplished.  They -did- show the mechanism that chambers the next round in slow-mo, but it looked to my untrained eyes pretty much like any other automatic weapon doing it's thing.  Any thoughts?

It uses a lot of the recoil energy to actually cycle the action. That's sort of simplistic, but it's sort of difficult to really explain all the principles behind it here.
