Liberty Twp. Northern suburb of Youngstown Ohio in Trumbull County.
Gooooooooooooooooo Tribe!
-
Huron Township, across the line from Sandusky and less than 5 miles from Cedar Point.
Great combination -- small town, resort area amenities, crowds for only a few months per year. And the lake effect snow doesn't hit till about 20 miles to our east!
Rob - is there still a small museum and warbird restoration shop at the Akron Canton Airport? A friend of mine (the kind of guy who knows someone EVERYWHERE he goes) visited there, ended up talking with one of the workers, and came home with a piece of the original vertical stabilizer/fuselage fairing from a SBD they were replacing. Proving his worth, my buddy -- who knew I',m an aviation nut -- passed it on to me.
With all you guys around Cinti, has there been talk of a meet and greet at the USAF Museum? I'd be up for it!

Simaril,
The museum you speak of is the MAPS Air Museum. Haven't been there in a few years, but they are still standing. Financial problems have held them back the last few years. They used to sponsor a decent air show which was held at the Akron-Canton Airport, then moved the show to Akron Fulton Airport. MAPS grew some a little too, recently. A few "new" airframes and an additional hangar.

I'm also in Canton, literally live down the street from Football HOF.
The air show that rob is talkin about is has gotten quite big since the first one they had. They even had to change the location on the airport for it because when they first started it, it was right at the national guard post or whatever it is. Now its right there at Goodyear.
As far as I know the air show is only every other year or something like that. Been 2 or 3 years since the last one I went to.

I always wondered why Upper Sandusky was so far south of Sandusky.:furious
Dr7, we go camping in your back yard every summer during the Faire. 9 years in a row now. Actually we found a new place in Montville last year since the closed R & R campground on 307.
