Title: KI-61 lift bug

I had the aileron and flap shot off of my right wing in the KI-61 and the left wing was diping tward the ground as if it had taken the damage. I was only able to stabilise it by droping the left flap to full..    

Seems to me that the right wing that was missing all of it's control surfaces should have been the one droping tward the ground.

In aces high, when the damage list shows flaps damaged, it indicates that the flap is jammed. In this case sounds like ur right flap was jammed at full (probably got hit in that position).

So now (one of the mot irritating features of the game) auto retract, retracts the left flap as speed builds up. And presto, the aircraft is no longer balanced and wants to roll left.

I really whish auto retract would be disabled, at least when 1 flap is jammed. Let em both be frozen at that position.

When jug says "flap damaged", it means it isn't THERE anymore, thus mebbe 10% of wing surface gone...plane act funny

The flap and aileron were gone I looked over and they wern't there :)

 Thinking on this furthere the only possible explanation I could think of is that missing those 2 parts droped enough weight on the right wing to cause the intact wing to dip.. Just seemed more logical to me that missing the entire rear edge of a wing would cause it to lose lift and let the intact wing rise but I could be wrong.

Flayed1, in AcesHigh, when the flap is damaged, visibly it will fall off. But as far as flight model goes, it considers it jammed in that position.

It would be nice for the flaps to also be able to get shot off.

It is a bit odd that it's animated as flying off, when in fact the flight model simply locks it in whatever position it was in when damaged. I was under the impression that most control surfaces were hydraulically actuated, and as such, I'd think they'd simply stop functioning, as opposed to locking in place.

Almost wish they would model it visually as Locked down if it's damaged when depoloyed.

And/or model it as "off" when it comes off as opposed to "locked down".

Hydraulic control surfaces can also lock up due to physical damage, though not as easily as purely mechanical (due to the hydraulics wrenching it free). In WWII aircraft most control surfaces are supposed to be mechanical, but a locked elevator or aileron would quickly put a fight to end.

I just wish they'd disable the "autoretract feature" when a flap is jammed. Let the added drag of both flaps extended occur. Right now you accelerate, and 1 flap retracts, you need to slow down (while cross controlling) and then deploy the flap again......
