Yeah, I'm sure it's bigger since the last time I was there, which was over 10 years ago, but last time I was there they just had put in that wave you could surf in the separate section of the part that you had to take a tram to get too. My favorite there was the slide that you go up on top of that house and ride down on a board on an almost vertical drop and you race the person on the slide next to you, scary but fun.

Yep they got this thing called the master-blaster and the water shooting out of it is so powerful, that after a near vetical drop, it shoots you UP and around going up for 1/4 of the time, then it drops down BIG TIME. And they also put up this like 150ft swing that you can swing on for like 50$$

I live & work in Conroe, TX just north of Houston. Conroe is boring.

Also is it true that they closed AstroWorld? I had heard that from someone.

Yep Astro world is no more... I went there once before it closed, right when I moved here. Rumor has it that Disneyland is comming soon to H-Town, or at least off 529 out on the west northwest side of town. THey've built a small power plant already. Should do wonders for the housing market over there

Wow, I can't believe that, I thought the person who told me just didn't know what they were talking about. Has there been any reasons given for closing it? I mean it was a 6 Flags park, I've never heard of a 6 Flags park closing up, and have they also closed Water World too?
They had alot of amazing roller coasters there, I loved going there, especially since I've become handicapped in a wheelchair because at AstroWorld I didn't have to wait in any lines, me and up to 3 other people would get to go up the exit and get right on the ride, and not only that, Me and the people with me would get to ride it twice if we wanted to before getting off, now the 6 Flags park up here by where I live "6 Flags Great America" I still get to go up the exit and not wait in any lines with 3 other people, but I can only ride each ride once every 2 hours, which isn't too bad because by time you ride every ride and get back to the first one its been atleast 2 hours, but no getting to go twice before getting off, it's one of the few perks to being in a wheelchair, I probably ride atleast 20-25 times whenever I go.

Attendance had gone down and the price of that land went through the roof from what I heard. They should be building shopping centers lofts and heard maybe that John O'quinn might house his car collection there in a museum. He has over 400 cars of all types.

LMAO - this musta been towards the end of the game... havn't dug these out in hella long. :D
Drinking at a UH game, never would have guessed! Only college in Texas to sell beer in the stadium and only a couple others in the country sell in the stadium.
Here's me before a game i think SMU game, it was our Big Lebowski tailgate and i was fueled up on White Russians. We ran out of milk on the fact that everyone brought Kahlúa & vodka and 1 person brought milk. I have no idea who the lady is in the picture, again i was smashed an hour before the game.

A town here. Amarillo in other words. :)
-
Ah yes, UofH football. I went to Robertson to see them play Army one evening several years ago. A highlight was indeed the sale of beer in the stadium. A lowlight was the flippin stadium lights (and all other lights) WENT OUT in the middle of the night game. It was handled so smoothly it makes me wonder if it is a frequent occurrence.
-
never seen that happen before, I do know they upgraded all the lights and added more for the Dynamo games and for more televised games.

Yankee bastard here, in the middle of Tomball.

Fruda, Do you like Mels Country Cafe or Goodson's Cafe?

Fruda, Do you like Mels Country Cafe or Goodson's Cafe?
Oh my god, yes. I like Mel's more, though, as the food seems to be better every time I go (though Goodson's is definitely no slouch). Plus, Mel's one of the few people who actually talks like me in this area. :P
Though it's a shame that I have to go for miles down the road to get decent pizza. Locatelli's is fantastic, it's real NYC pizza. Everything is made from scratch daily. Sure, it takes like an hour for them to make your pizza, but it's worth it.
-
I love both :) Goodson’s has the best chicken fried steak though. We have some awesome NYC pizza places here in Conroe too. RC’s pizza & Joe’s Pizza both are from NY,NY.
-
Yeah, but I hate Conroe. Something about it always gives me a headache when I go, and I'm not sure what. Besides, it's a longer trip than going down to the corner of Louetta and Grant.
Some guy told me there's a real Chicago deli in the Woodlands, though I forgot the name of it.

Any of you Coogs know where your hand sign came from?
-
yea, poor Shasta lost a toe in an accident in transportation to tu. Sips caught wind and flashed the sign at UH fans as a joke. UH loses game and first trip up there in the SWC UH fans use the sign and we win 30-0 (dads day Massacre). 30 years later the rest of the world and opponents thinks it's hilarious the crowd throws the shocker.

Yeah, that is what I have always heard. I just wanted to see if there were other theories.
Hook 'em.

There are plenty of other explanations,if you look at it it looks like a U and a H, heard some one say it was a way of telling the horns their number 1 and also heard it some how looks like a car. I think you need to use a lot of acid to see a cat.

Round Rock here....Born in San Marcos...work in Austin!!!!!

What do you think about the Round Rock Express?

What do you think about the Round Rock Express?
I love that they're staunch supporters of our Fort Hood troops. :aok After having seen them demonstrate that, I don't give two hoots on whether or not they play great ~ We go see their games out of thankfulness for all that they do for our Fort Hood soldiers. :aok
Plus, seeing a ball game is a side perk.

What do you think about the Round Rock Express?
They are a lot of fun to go and watch. The stadium (Dell Diamond) is top notch. Not really a bad seat in the place. It's a pretty ball firld...pretty goood ball club most years.
When Clments was making his comeback for the Stro's we got to go watch him pitch a few innings. 5 rows up directly behind home plate. Was a beautiful night for ball and the Express won. Just to see a HOF pitcher (potentially) was great.
They have Fireworks every Firday night that they are in town. I live in a Sub-division less than a mile from the ball field and the fireworks are seen in my front yard very very easily. SO its cool to have that other than my dogs hate em and bark the whole time :lol
all in all its a good time and I enjoy going to the games. Not to expensive at all for tickets. Beer is high priced and warm usually :lol So I just have a coke or 2.
-
I had military training in Texas. Boy is that state a hoot. And the woman? There are tons of beautiful woman in Texas. Actually I was all set to test for Houston and Dallas PD and often wondered how things would have worked out if I had went back to Texas. I never drank Coors before I went there. I remember after 12 hours of field training I'd come back to the PX and drink about 19 pitchers of the stuff. Lone Star I drank by the container ship too.
In Texas they love guns, hunting, fishing, football, woman, beer, barbecue, and at least back then, you could drive with road pops. Now thats a perfect state. At least for me.

GEORGETOWN TEXAS HERE!!!! :D
Just a little above Austin.
You guys should go hit up the Catfish Parlour in Georgetown. One of the best restaraunts I've ever eaten at.
(Austin, Georgetown, Houston, and Galveston are my favorite places in the world to be at. :D)
Oh and Sun City is in Georgetown for all the older people who want to retire there. My dad met a guy who flew B-25s during WW2 against the Japanese. My dad would always go and tell me the guy's stories before work at Sun City closed down. I think a whole bunch of famous Baseball People live there too. (I think I can name a P-51 ace there, A-26 pilot, B-25 pilot, famous pitcher for I think the Cardinals) if you ever want to hear cool stories, go to Sun City. I was at the memorial day thing last year and there was a guy who hit the beaches at Omaha Beach with the first wave. It was a great story. :D
-
I have been to the Catfish Parlor before ... mmmm, mmmmm, GOOD!!
Where are you from again :rofl
