I love the VOX in AH as it's really helpful in quick ways to communicate to others, but the one thing I hate about it is that if you have your game volume up, you can hardly hear what another player is saying to you. I like to fly with my engines really loud as it makes me feel like I'm actually in the airplane, but I can't stand it how I have to put my engine volume level at 40% just so I can hear someone.
I'm asking if it could possible to have an option that allowed you to enable a sound blocker when someone uses vox. For example, my sounds are blasting louder than ever while my mom yells at me that dinner is ready, but I can't hear her. Then a spit shows up on my six and a friendly tunes to the local vox and tells me a spit is on my six, and when he does that my game volume automatically goes from 100% to like 30% which allowed me to hear my fellow teammate very clearly. Spit on my six! thanks man you saved me! =)
So basically when someone uses vox near you, your game sound level is blocked but in a lightly tone where you can still hear your game sounds, but the vox volume is still normal. Then once they are done talking your volume returns to its normal state. I hope you all understand what I'm trying say.
Thanks!

You're looking for the slider labeled "Effects", or something to that effect, in the voice options.

Go to an airport, stand outside close to a plane starting up. Its pretty dang loud.
Now sit down inside and close the doors. Got a lot quieter. Now put on the headphones so you can hear the radio, gee, engine is just a hum in the background now.
Seriously, try turning engine sounds down to 40%, you'll hear people on vox, you'll hear airplanes comeing up behind you. You'll hear a lot more of everything.
Personally I've already got substantial hearing loss in my left ear from running farm tractors for years. I really don't need to add to it by keeping my AH engine sounds up.

Straying from the original subject a bit, but I do love to pipe AH through the sub-woofer every now and then and make the house rumble.:D

As Moot said, what you're asking for already exists in AH.
From the clipboard, select Options -> Preferences -> Voice -> Effects Volume. Effects volume attenuates the other sounds when Vox is in use.
