Jericho returns!!!
I really, really like this show. I have from the first episode. I rank it below BSG in production values, but just as equal in writing. The possibilities for it are huge scriptwise. Set in a rural Kansas town in post-apacalyptic America, this is a great show.
After a huge grassroots campaign that included over 40,000 pounds of nuts sent to network headquarters, CBS has given Jericho a 7 episode run at a second season. It starts this Tuesday at 9pm. The idea for the nuts came from the series ending episode cliffhanger when an outnumbered Jericho defense responded to an overwhelming attacking force's request for surrender. The Jericho "Rangers" defense force was structured around the WWII Army Ranger Handbook. The reply to the overwhelming New Berg invaders was in direct reference to the reply by General Anthony Clement McAuliffe to the German forces at Bastone.
Besides a great script, Jericho has an outstanding cast with Skeet Ulrich, Pamela Reed, Gerald McRainey, Alicia Coppola (rowr!) and Lennie James.
Both SciFi and UniversalHD are running Jericho marathons leading up to Tuesday's season 2 premier. If you've never seen or heard of Jericho I strongly suggest you check it out. This is one of the better shows in a long, long time on TV.
Bit of trivia... The morse code during the opening credits is a message about that episode.

Haven't watched it. Wonder if the already shown episodes are available on-line?
They are available. Will give it a shot.
-
Don't know about online, but Universal HD is showing the first season right now - I'm desperately trying to catch up in time for the new season.
-
you can watch season one online at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/

Wife and I just watched the first two season one episodes. Interesting, we may watch one or two more tonight.
-
One of my fave shows:aok
-
I loved the show and was very surprised when they pulled it..
-
I really like the show as well but I am thinking it's going to be the next LOST where it keeps going nowhere and I lose interest.
-
Jericho is a great show. I'm glad they brought it back for another season. I love the FBI agent, Hawkins, he is kickprettythang.

Tuesday 9pm Central.

Cr@p - Universal HD showed almost the entire first season yesterday - which just about melted the DVR.
More importantly, I now have to tell the missus American Idol and America's Next Top Model got deleted - no bad thing you may think, but my life may very well be over. :O

hey, at least you'll have plenty to watch while you're on the couch! :rofl

I just watched the "Nuts" episode and the whole time I couldn't shake the image of "Red Dawn II - The WMD Years". I was waiting to hear Gerald McRainey's character go, "Avenge me! AVENNNNNNNNNGE ME!!!". I hope it gets better.
-
I was pissed they killed off Johnston Green! Kill the freakin' no balls Mayor, not Johnston. Oh, well... hopefully he will be in a lot of flashback scenes. I've always liked Gerald McRainey.
Wooley, don't feel bad. Almost melted my DVR as well. I've got a lot of DVD copying to do!

JOHNSTON!!!!! He was awesome, much better than Gray Anderson. Can't believe they killed him. :(

WOOT! :aok :aok
-
Great episode! Had to skip my AH hour to watch it though.
-
I liked how Ashley Scott's (teh yemmeh) hair went from a bob type haircut in the season finale to halfway down her back in the season premiere. Good episode, won me back.

Odd...I speak Morse at 25 words per minute. All I have ever copied on the show opens were random letters and occasionally a number.
Source?

im so glad they brought back Jerico. that was quite some battle they had!:D

I read that on the CBS Jericho website some time back. I'll find a link when I get home from work today .
-
Thank you rpm, and please do...
All I copied was gibberish.
In the "old days", movies (especially) and TV had accurate CW when presented, as many more people were fluent in Morse back then.

This is off IMDB.com's triva section for the show.
"Each episode's title card is accompanied with audio containing only Morse code (dots and dashes, or short and long beeps) which, when translated, provides a short hint (around 3 words) about the episode to come."
"The Morse code that accompanies the opening credits of each episode is broadcast at 15 words per minute at 1000 Hz frequency."

Amazing....
15 wpm is doggin' it for me, and I still find previous episode opens as randomly generated code.
Either there is a secondary code to apply (write down CW heard and then reassemble as some word jumble) or maybe someone is pullin' our larriats?
Guessing I'll actually do hard copy on next episode :aok
Thank you gentlemen.
