Title: Michigan delegates...
Post by: sluggish on February 10, 2008, 11:01:37 AM
Hitlery has been calling for the release of the Michigan delegates and it looks now like she may get her way.  This is after the primary where most of the Dem candidates didn't even campaign because they knew the delegates didn't count.  Now Hilley says she should get the delegates because she won by a 60% margin to "undecided".  You won't find this in the press unless you look very hard.  If I were Obama I would be pitching a fit.

I might not even vote.    Both parties suck arse.    Not to mention the cheek nipples of a Governor.   Take the Mayor of Detroit who text'd messages to his "now stepped down Assistant" after banging her and lying under Oath in 2003 about it.

This State is just a shell of what I remember it being.

Isn't that a fact.  We're now charging 6% tax on intangibles (services)... It's the lib answer to everything:  Raise taxes.  The way things are right now no business in their right mind would come to this state.  If I could get out from under this mortgage I'd be long gone.

Isn't it funny how Hilley is basically trying to steal delegates right out in the open and no one is saying anything about it?

*I'd really love to hear a hilley supporter's rationalization of this behavior.

LOL... Did Hillary beat some of you up in grade school or something?

She won Michigan, and Florida. She didn't campaign there any more or less than anyone else. The Democratic party somehow feels it is OK to disenfranchise these 2 States just because they wanted to pick an earlier date for their primary. If I lived in MI or FL I'd be screaming to allow my delegates to vote.

But she DID campaign here.  Obama never even came.  Niether did Edwards.  They skipped it because the dems are punishing Mi for moving up their primary.  This is downright scandalous and since you've got a big woody for her you're going to say "oh it's no big deal."

*added-
Plus, she won against "undecided."  Kusinich (sic) got like 3%.  I can't believe the dem voters who would vote for hilley just because their guy wasn't on the ballot.

The vote was-
clinton 60%
undecided 36%
cusinich 4%

Don't forget that the Repub Party killed 50% of the Repub Delegates as punishment.
• Michigan lost all 156 of its Democratic delegates for allocating delegates outside of the Democratic National Committee-approved timeframe.
• Michigan lost 30 of its 60 Republican delegates for allocating delegates outside of the Republican National Committee-approved timeframe.

I hear talk that they won't use the Democratic Primary results because 'not all the candidates were on the ballot'.  I believe it was their choice not to be on the ballot -- so they lose, in my opinion.

I hear talk that they won't just drop Michigan -- how fair is that (hey, our Gov. broke the rules, which means we broke the rules, which means we should pay -- no seating at the Dem Convention).

Then I hear they might have a 'do-over' and do a Caucus to replace the Primary results.  Huh?  Vote twice?  WTF is a Caucus anyways.  That's not even voting, is it?

If I voted in the Repub primary, can I vote in the Dem caucus?  Are the Repubs going to have a do-over and do a Caucus too?  Do I get to vote ten times?  Who the hell is paying for all this?

The whole notion of "superdelagates" flies in the face of democracy, the very thing Hillbillary claims to support.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superdelegate
........By contrast, the superdelegates are seated based solely on their status as current or former elected officeholders and party officials.......
.......At the 2008 Democratic National Convention, the superdelegates will compose approximately one-fifth of the total number of delegates.......
....... In 2008, Senator Joe Lieberman was disqualified as a superdelegate because he endorsed Republican John McCain.....

list of superdelagates here

I live in FL... and I did not vote due to our delegates not being seated.  It was understood prior to the election that it was not going to happen...ON both sides.

To now challenge it and try to change it because Obama is starting to kick your teeth in is reprehensible.  I've said it before, I will not vote for Clinton if she's the only name on the ticket in the general election.

She represents the "old guard"..... do whatever you can to whoever you can to get elected.  She just added in the "Cry alot" component.  If I was a female in this country, I would be ashamed.

As i have to do every four years.

Please explain why it's alright for hilley to get the Michigan delegates after they were suposed to be denied and she was the only one to campaign there.

I dunno if I wanna join the party to have fun making up Sen Clinton names and telling fart jokes if you can't keep up the momentum. If that wasn't your prime intent from the start you all coulda just acted like grown-ups from the git-go. I mighta got inspired to agree with the mere merit of the argument, then. :D
