Title: SAPP Tank Hunting Lessons
Post by: Guppy35 on February 10, 2008, 05:56:34 PM
Historically the P38 was used often, in particularly in the ETO for hunting armor and ground vehicles.  The 9th Air Force 38 drivers would load up with bombs, take off and go hunting.  During the Battle of the Bulge in fact, one 38 Group, the 474th, with the Panzers getting close to their field, had 38s lined up with their guns pointing down the roads just in case.

We at SAPP have refined the this idea and taken the P38 tank hunting while not really sitting still, but not getting airborne either.

Note the Panzer in the distance as I try and sneak up on him.

The advantage of those turbocharged Allisons as they are a bit quieter then a tank engine so you can sneak up on em.

Hey buddy!  I'm right here!

Note that the panzer driver is still without a clue   as his cannon is pointed somewhere else and his MG is silent.  OK Pardner...draw!

Oops!  You lose!   There ya have it.  Tank killing in the 38 made easy :)

Or maybe, "You call THAT a knife? THIS is a knife!" Just insert "cannon" and you're good to go!

Another example of gameing the game looks like to me, i see no tracers and or shots being fired no pings on the tank, no smokeing guns nothing. typical gamers tactic.I can shoot a tank all day long with a 20mm and all it ever does is track it. Makes a person wander whats really going on here.

Looks to me like the guns in the nose would be too high to hit the tank anyways... :noid

No doubt it's a SAPP conspiracy..........

And there has never been any question that I'll do anything to 'game the game' just so I can win the war and get all the perk points I can get to fly all those uber rides!

Call it what you will , I never said anything about any conspiracy im commenting on what i see , I earn my perks getting ritcheous kills and base takes not by gameing , i prefer to play the game the way HTC meant for it to be played At least i know my kills arent made by useing lame tricks. just good marksmanship and fair play. If i die which is alot i know it wasnt for lack of trying and a good since of fair play. SO like i said call it what you will makes no difference to me.

The marble is not quite getting to the mousetrap here....

smokey if you'd go back and look at the final image it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that he photoshopped the picture. The line where the two images were superimposed are easily visable.

Dan is a great guy and outstanding stick (dont confuse landing and flying:)) who does better in his "EWA" ride then many can in a perk ride. Just dont let him valet park your plane:aok

Thanks humble, but that's NOT photoshopped :aok

Added another angle of the explosion.  Didn't even ping me with shrapnel.  Just think when we get the 39 with that 37mm cannon.  Tricycle gear too.  Roll right out and BOOM! goes the panzers :)

I'm sorry, but I must agree with smokey here.  You're all being played, Corky/dan, whatever his name is (must be a new guy) is clearly gaming the game.  I'll post more later, but smokey has some great points.  Good to know I'm not the only sane one.

More proof that this dweeb is gaming the game: look around that picture.  Do you see any trees or ground clutter?  Me either.  This guy has clearly turned down the graphics so that he could sneak up on it with a gamey advantage.

There's also the tracer issue that smokey has stated.

Just like in Saving Private Ryan, a P-51 Tank Buster (cough) dropped danger close to save a poor helpless ground pounder who had found himself in an untenible position.

First of all, anyone with 2mph can hit brakes and get the nose to dip enough to be able to get a hit on the tank while landed.

Like a jeep he probably just flew his 38 inside the tank and fired.
Id imagine the distructive power of x4 .50's and x1 20mm would have ALOT more damage than just one .50 jeep gun.

Gaming the game is our #1 credo.  Every new member to SAPP has swear that they will do their utmost to game the game whenever possible and however possible.  Failure to do so is grounds for immediate tittie twisters and wedgies.  Makes you wonder why Silat is the only SAPP member that refuses to game the game.
