I had a problem with some nasty malware/virus type thing a year or two ago.

This site here helped me clean it all out without having to simply wipe my drive.

Go here (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=lst-0-1) and download Spybot Search and Destroy.  Go here (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5) and download Ad-Aware SE.  Update and run these regularly.  Between the two of them you should be OK.

Have you tried this?

1. Boot into Safe Mode.
2. Disable System Restore
3. Delete the offending file(s) from the \windows\system32 folder
4. Run REGEDIT, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Remove all references to wintems.exe from right-hand window.
5. Close REGEDIT
6. Reboot.

Was going ot say that if you know when you got it you might be able to do a system restore to before that date.
Then disable system restore, which will wipe out all your restore points. Including that file.

Good to see ya back B@t - will you be online at 7am or so (asking as you would appear to be up early already). If so, fancy a DA session (Bad shift, need my backside kicked for an hour or so)

No worries if not,
