What is involved in a server update?
Is it an enhancement that we players will notice?
Or does it just make it so the server is capable of holding more information?
Don't know much about it.
Enlighten me please.
Ignorantly yours,
Boner

I'd suggest emailing HTC if you *must* know, since all that other players could do would be to conjecture.
If you want player's opinions, I'll give you mine - they appear to have "updated" the other/another server last week and there were no obvious changes as a result of that that I at least have come to be aware of, so I leave you to draw your conclusions from that.

I think it's mainly resyncing the servers, updating them to newer verisons, that sort of stuff.

I know the server doesn't run Windows, but think of it like windows update. installing new files, programs, or operating system configurations.
doing things like that usually require no other activity, and reboots along the way.
in a real world network IT usually has a test lab with a miniature version running where they run the updates and test everything out first. Skuzzy I know has multiple different systems on a test network just for looking into bugs reported in game.

Skuzzy was on when they did the Orange area he said.. Ram and some other stuff that i dont remember...
He was in god mode typing in blue. Said they have never had a hardware malfunction cause of the server updates so i guess..... its like a helicopter..... so many hours on a piece of hardware and it gets replaced.

im guessing its exactly what it sounds like, upgrading the server.. just like people upgrade their PCs from time to time...
rumor has it the improved servers can support higher numbers of more realistic sheep.

Skuzzy is putting wire security bales on the power cords. Hopefully this will improve uptime.

We are in the process of upgrading the operating systems on our game servers. 2 down 2 to go.
