Some guy who's been working at Boeing was arrested today for espionage, he gave the Chinese secrets about our space shuttles and other stuff.
http://www6.comcast.net/news/articles/general/2008/02/11/NEWS-USA-ESPIONAGE-CHINA-DC/
-
He should have at least run for public office and gotten some campaign funding for our defense secrets.
-
Chinese official: Why do you bring me here when our shuttle and bomber can not even lift off?
Chinese subordinate: I don't know why they are too heavy, we built them exactly like the American plans said to, then had them painted by most honorable Chinese toy company.
:lol
-
They say he only passed info on 3 projects-the Shuttle, the Delta IV rocket, and the B-1. But he worked for Rockwell since '73, and for boeing when it aquired Rockwell in '96. I'd be willing to bet that more than just those 3 programs' were compromised.
-
They need to puts some sanctions against China for this, there just as much to blame as this guy is.
-
I've got 5 in the "posts until someone blames Clinton pool".
-
Let me guess.
They became suspicious when they caught him eating one of the guard dogs

Because we'd never spy on China?
-
no no , clinton had nothing to do with the shuttle, he sold the chinese plans for the nuke subs.

No, were just good enough not to get caught.
-
Shoot his corpse out of a cannon back to china with a note on his back.
"We know what you are up to, here we used this one up..send more please."
Also, its not the fact we are so good we don't get caught, it just we useualy get shot dead on sight, and why would they want to admit they caught an american on or in a facility that could point to there guilt?
We get spys and put them in the spot light (to point to there country's guilt), they put our spy's six feet under, and like everything else pretend nothing ever happend.
Because for china to say "yeah we caught a spy trying to send our secret world destroying super bio bomb from our facility in china, probably is not the best idea.
They run it thru government, we source the work out to companys who can just as easly be infiltrated, dubbed a security risk, and shut down. Or if just the staff totaly replaced.
Should be interesting to see just how much tech and info other countrys gained by boeing selling everything we had.
Sure most if not all is just first generation, but these chinese are not stupid, they only need a foundation and a primary "goal' to accomplish anything we americans have, chilling is the fact they can probably do it in record braking time, if they havent already.
Remember the spyplane they ramed? you can bet your butt every function they took while that plane was down, has already been implicated into there systems.
Needless to say, the water is getting hotter.
Hope this helps.

Would only hurt us...What would Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Dell, Apple, etc. become without cheap Chinese labor?

You lost an entire spy aircraft few years ago. If they did get caught no one would know. Like the tree falling in the woods makes no sound.

Umm... That spy aircraft was in international waters. Big difference.
I think we need to bring back capital punishment for spys. Those laws are still on the books, but our politicians are too weak minded to allow their use. As someone who's life is directly threatened by these compromises, I want the laws to be enforced as written. Traitors hang.
And if I was king, they'd hang publicly.

Yes I can imagine how well it would go down if that situation was reversed, spy plane flying down coast of US in international waters.

Happens all the time... Lots of Russian "fishing boats" with an odd excess of antennas hover around off the coastline in international waters anytime we run exercises, and nobody gets too excited. We certainly don't sink them, although if they drove into port and offloaded someone who walked into a Boeing plant and then walked out with a bunch of classified data, it would be a different story.
A Russian Bear just buzzed one of our carriers this week... Flew right over it at 2000'. Flying a nuke capable bomber right over a national asset is just a BIT more provocative than a recon plane trolling up and down the coast, but we were adult enough to let it go without knocking it out of the sky in some sort of "accident".

Well since it's wasn't front page news that Russian bombers flew within 50 miles of Alaska in Australia that doesn't count as an example...
:D
-
Russian Bear's during the cold war was more symbolic and politics as is flying over carriers today. Compare that to the length and sophistication of the U2 and other programs.
Getting back to the topic, your always going to have some greedy individuals in a position to sell information that will. With little or no outside government influence what so ever. They'll take the information that's on offer for a price just as any government would.
Calling for economic sanctions is a bit over dramatic even if the US was in a position (economically) to do so.

Strange allies Gixer is picking these days, or did Boroda move south?
-
If i was in the Russian Air Force, i would be embarassed about buzzing carriers, countries, whatever in bombers still powered by whirly bits on the wings.
Heck, why not intimidate the enemy further by shaking a spear out the window?
A TU-160 would be far more impressive... if they could get them off the ground. I guess they could use one for a drive by if it was being towed.

I read somewhere that the turboprop allowed incredible range to these birds and basically removed the need for mid-air refueling in case of war.
-
Well, as soon as we get a Clinton in the White House this spying will end! Of Course the Clintons will just sell the information to them.

Well someone owes Midnight money now

Good thing too... the whirly bits may cut off the refuelling line otherwise, then it wouldnt be buzzing anything.

I hadn't heard of any recent public hangings in Iran. That said, it takes deliberate and obtuse disregard for common sense and facts to equate hanging someone for showing disrespect towards an oppressive religion to hanging someone for placing the existence of their nation or the lives of it's people at direct risk, for either personal financial gain or to further the fortunes of another nation.
But nice troll... :aok
-
They have hung people publically for murder in the last few years... nothing about showing disrespect to Islam.
Holy prejudiced assumption, batman! :aok

"Isn't Dell the only computer company that still makes computers in the US?"
No. Dell has been importing MADE IN CHINA machines for awhile now. They recently announced more lay off in support of taking more jobs over seas. Customer support is split between America and India.
Gateway has more machines built here than in china. They, Gateway, still has American built machine and all of its Customer Support is American.
I heard that one company who makes PC's is 100% built. You pay more but it is worth it to keep the jobs here. I cannot recall the name and I thought I saved in bookmarks.

That Bear driver obviously plays AH 'cos that's the only place you'll ever see a heavy bomber take out a CV from 2000 feet.
