TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL ~ so as not to further disturb the delicate balance of the slayer thread which I so rudely disturbed, here's it's own thread...
Making a pretty big assumption there. There's a pretty big difference between me liking slayer and me blaring it through-out the house & letting my kids have nightmares about them. LOL
:lol
Sorry if any of that upsets you. :) I wouldn't be so quick to think you know me or could place me in any of the neat little compartments that everyone is categorized into.

Slayer? I take it they are a death metal band?

I take it back. They're just head bobbers.

LOL my first thread in 5+ years :D
THANK YOU! :aok
anyway, I kind of picture you from what I have read similar to my own mother but younger (She was born in 1947)
so anyway one day I went from shy Christian boy, to listening to rap with cusses in it, they heard it, and took my tapes and albums, then one day a few years later they heard me listening to Slayer and Sepultura and since I was 19 or so we got into an adult discussion on it. one dumb, but real argument was Slayer is not "Satanic" as they adamantly say they don't believe in the Devil.
needless to say I bought my own stereo in the next few months as I wasn't allowed to listen to the Devils music on theirs.
it is just shocking for someone to have such Christian values (I do to) yet listen to music like Slayer. For myself back then the political part of the music, like War Ensemble appealed to me, add in I was 2-3 years in on learning guitar and they were incredible talents like my moniker Dave Mustaine of Megadeth.

I enjoyed reading your post. :)
Most of my enjoyment of music is entirely the instruments. To tell you the truth, I hardly ever listen to any of the words at all, no matter what the genre is. And when I finally do realize what some of it says I think "Oh my gosh! I can't believe I just heard that" even though I'd already listened to it 20 - 30 times.
On the whole ~ I am a fuddy-duddy... who doesn't drink... drives her kids around to football practice while listening to old-lady music, forces them out of bed on sundays for church, still sits with them while they do homework, monitors their my-space pages for obsenities, tells them I want to meet all their little friends & just generally spending my time doing all that annoying "Mom" stuff.
So around the house, I stick to the stuff that makes my family yawn (josh groban, journey, vivaldi). It's quiet & pleasant. But sometimes (just sometimes) I will pull out a metallica or megadeth (*not* rust in peace... countdown to extinction) cd & pop it into the stereo. :D It's a nice departure from what I usually listen to. Plus, if I listen to it when I clean, I get the work done in about half the time. :D

sacrilegious!!!!!
and WHY NOT???
(see new signature)
Though I have to say a huge thank you to the lyrics.... they mean nothing to me (well except certain parts) it is the music and emotion in the voice that tells the song.
those certain parts well for years I didn't know the full lyrics to one of my favorite songs. I just can't tell what someone is singing because I am listening to the music... if you read say "Good Mourning / Black Friday"
http://www.lyricstime.com/megadeth-good-mourning-black-friday-lyrics.html
WHILE listening you will get them, but otherwise I bet not... while just listening you may catch my fav: "and I will, cut you down." but you hear angst in the voice and you know it is a mean, possibly violent song.
Thats probably why I love the Smashing Pumpkins so much, you can't hear jack schtick Billy Corgan is saying 3/4 the time, but those 2 or 3 words make the song. Pearl Jam was the same early on, listen to "Release" off Ten and just feel the emotion in the song.
oh well enough for now I am tired lol.

MAN Brazilians know how to rock!
Side note, Dead Embryonic Cells lyrics a bit relevant lately no? LOL
Land of anger
I didnt ask to be born
Sadness, sorrow
Everything so alone
Laboratory sickness
Infects humanity
No hope for cure
Die by technology
A world full of **** coming down
Tribal voilence everywhere
Life in the age of terrorism
We spit in your other face
War of races
World without intelligence
A place consumed by time
End of it all
Were born with pain
No more were dead
Embryonic cells
Corrision inside -- we feel
Condemned future -- we see
Emptiness calls -- we hear
Final premonition -- the truth
Land of anger
I didnt ask to be born
Sadness, sorrow
Everything so alone
Laboratory sickness
Infects humanity
No hope for cure
Die by technology
Were born with pain
Suffer remains
Were born with pain
Suffer remains
Were dead
and for txmom, an interesting read and take on Max:
