They did this to protest the planned assassination of one of the cartoonists, which the Danish authorities fortunately foiled.

Way to go Denmark!
:aok

A dutch anti-immigration organization is making a critical short movie of Muhammed. That's obviously angering the muslims.
-
Nice!!
-
Good on 'em.
Got no sympathy for a group that protests their depiction as violent extremists by... attempting assassinations and bombings. Way to fight the stereotype.

The last few nights there have been minor car burning and stone throwing in Copenhagen (mostly), Aarhus and Kalundborg, but at least the problems in Copenhagen had started even before the arrests and presumably have more to do with some teenagers basically being bored.
Obviously I don't hope this escalates. I actually live dead center in the part of Aarhus where the arrests were made (Gellerup) and of the 12 apartments in my stairway judging from the names on the doors, I'm the only native Dane. :noid

whoa~ even Nordic countries have ghetto neighborhoods?

good for them.
enough is enough.

I'm sure our prime minister Matti "Sorry" Vanhanen is going to apologize the danish cartoons once again. He's always being sorry about everything. What a true leader we have...

You know, that really is extremely ironic, when you think about it.

Here is a costume worn last Halloween that was based on the cartoon. I wonder if this fellow is now marked for death too???

He sounds remarkably like Australia's new PM.
The guy has no balls, he is running around like a nanny trying to please minority groups and look like a nice, friendly person.
It was a sad day for this country when he was elected.

Ours isn't even trying to be particularly friendly or nice. He's a plain wuss. He never has any real opinions on troubling issues, just on the ones that are on the safe side. I think that most of the times he feels insecure. He can tell the finns that there's nothing to discuss about topic X, but with the foreigners he's a total wimp.

A new hope of the last return of the cartoon clone wars strikes back.

Minor car burning?
Not if its your car :)
wtg Danish/European newspapers. This stupidity of trying to "not offend" the Muslims...who ironically are the largest source of terrorism...its like trying to ignore an elephant in a room. Just plain numb.
Let's dish their "tolerance" request right back at em

I meant it was just a few cars that were burned. Tonight a single car was torched some 500 yards from my apartment.
It still feels like bored teenagers more than sincere upset over the cartoons.

Hope you remain safe Snefens.

when the 'prophet' was alive, did you have to talk to him with your eyes closed? allowed to even talk to him? touch him? think about him even? No wonder he knocked down females and declared holy war on the infidels, the dude must have been gagging for some poontang.

Actually, here is a much more appropriate cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed:
